Lovely site but cramped with 7 Van's and caravans

7 Van's and caravans make this site feel cramped especially with cars for 5.caravans, impossible to fill with water as a big tree prevents you from getting near the water tap . The country side is lovely and good walks from the site, a bit noisy from the road ,

Great Site and Owners

Although we visited during a bad weekend with Storm Ciara on the way thought, but what a nice CL. We booked via email and got a call from Andrew the next day to confirm our booking. He explained that the field was fairly damp but only had us booked so we had the choice of the whole field and suggested we stayed fairly close to the hard-standing entrance way. We arrived in the dark but was pleasantry surprised to find the field dry and firm. Despite this, knowing the forecast for the weekend was not great I opted to reverse the ‘van off the main driveway onto the site leaving a easy getaway after the weekend. Although feeling really in the countryside this site is very close to town, with supermarkets close by which is important when you have forgotten essentials for dinner…wine! We spent Saturday wondering around Shrewsbury and then vising family just over the Welsh border. Sunday morning the weather was really bad with wind and rain. Andrew did come and check on us on Sunday morning and offered to find somewhere for us to leave our van if needed as the roads where not looking good. We will return in the summer.

Lovely site

visited August 2017. Stayed here several times over the years because it is a good stopover before Shrewsbury folk festival but it is also so handy to go to Haughmond Abbey (just by walking across the neighbouring field), which is well worth a visit. Previous reviewers mention road noise but cannot say that we have ever noticed it. Reasonably busy in the day but certainly OK at night. The site is an area with apple trees. Quite small, compared with some sites, but I am surprised at reviews suggesting you are on top of each other. You can space yourself around the field as the pitches are not fixed. The owner is friendly and, should you have a problem, lives on site.

Pleasant basic site

As said in other reviews, the pitches are quite cosy to others, but it is well kept and the owners are nice people. Th instructions say to go to the top of the drive, turn round and then enter the site coming back down the drive .. but with care you can turn in on the approach. Current price £10/night .. WiFi can be good but sometimes disappears.

Nice little site

The site has basic facilities and the pitches are quite close to each other, however the site is close to Haughmond Abbey, Attingham Park (Nat Trust), Wroxter and Shewesbury so plenty to do in the area. The owner is very friendly and helpful and keeps the site very tidy, there was some road noise but it does go quieter in an evening.

Basic site but good value

This is a very small CL but in a lovely spot, we were squashed in between 2 other caravans, fortunately we were only there for 1 night & we didn’t want an awning up, but beware if you expect space around your pitch. At £10 per night but it’s good value & even includes free WiFi ! Although just off a B road, on a 50 mph limit it can sound like a race track, so if you want tranquility this is not the one for you. Only a short walk to Haughmond Abbey, an English Heritage site, which is worth a visit.

Nice CL

This is a nice small CL in a lovely location. When I arrived it had rained the previous 2 days so the ground was very wet in patches, no problem for caravan but possibly an issue with MH. This is a good value site at £10/night but has no bathroom facilities but has EHU, water etc.. I have marked down on peace and tranquillity as there is a B road about 100 yards from the site. Although this is 50mph limited road at times it sounds like a race track particularly the motorbikes! plenty of wildlife on the area of the farm. Shrewsbury is only a few miles from the site and there are supermarkets about 2 miles away. If in the area we would return.

Lovely CL

This CL was ideal for visiting Shrewsbury. It is quite small but a very pretty location in the orchard next to the farmhouse. The owner is very friendly. Free Wi Fi and only £10 a night. Great area for dog walking, will visit again.

Great Value CL

This is a well maintained all grass CL in an old orchard. It is easily accessed, being less than 2mls off the A49 on the B5062. The site entrance is a bit tight with a large outfit but turning in the farm yard makes it much easier. There are both footpaths and bridleways that pass through the farm and the site is less than a mile from Haughmond Hill with it's way-marked trails and a number of interesting off-road mountain bike routes. The nearest NT property is Attingham Park about 5mls away, and there are a couple of EH properties close by too, Wroxeter Roman Town and Morton Corbett Castle.  Not too distant are the Coalbrookedale and Ironbridge museums. The Park and Ride for Shrewsbury is less than 5mls away, adjacent to a Tesco Extra, with a Lidl next door and don't forget Charlie's for you outdoor supplies also close by. The site does not possess a toilet but does offer free WiFi, and all for £10 this year. We will definitely use this site in the future when visiting this area, which we like so much.

Heavenly spot

Lovely little site. Tricky turn for the larger outfits and can be a bit overcrowded with the full 5 on. Great situation, just round the corner from the abbey. Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Wickes and the town centre all a short drive away. Good value for money. Owner very freindly and helpful. Storage also available at reasonable rates. Recommended.
