A Field with a View.

Emma was there within minutes of us arriving to ensure we had all we needed. The field itself is quite uneven and we have a large heavy motorhome which she advised us to park on a slightly higher part due to the previous day's rainfall (and consequently slightly damp ground) although we had no problems. The grey water, chemical toilet and fresh water were easy to access, no electricity but we knew this before we arrived. The Hermitage castle is within sight of the field. This is really the place to go if you want to be away from it all. We couldn't get a phone signal, even when we drove into Hawick (lovely town incidentally) the signal was intermittent. Newcastleton is 6 miles away - and despite being a small village did have a good phone signal. We visited in June and so had the midges which appeared in the late afternoon in the sunshine to contend with. Other than that, a peaceful rural location.
