Satisfied motorhome user

Great site lovely and quite relaxed sleep. Hard standing flat and level for one motorhome. Shame the buses don't run after 6pm, but not the CL owner fault. Had a great time in Lancaster as there was a music festival on, lots of pubs with live music. Will be coming back to visit lancaster again. Many thanks

A littel gem of a site.

Stopped for 2 nights at the start of our autumn tour and it could not have been better. A lovely CL with 10amp EHU (metered), water, recycling etc. We had a warm welcome and had the pick of the site on our arrival. A well tended site backing onto farm fields and views across the valley. Close to Lancaster and its amenities and other places to visit are easily accessible from the site. After following our sat-nav through the country lanes take my tip and go via Lancaster, it's far easier on the nerves. A really pleasant couple of days and we will stop again. Only for longer next time!

Super peaceful well maintained and run CL in rural Lancashire.

Sarah and William run a quiet small 5 pitch site about 5 miles from Lancaster. Situated in a rural location on top of a small hill the steep driveway has a tight but manageable turn into a single field. We found no issues with our 7m motorhome. Each pitch is well spaced out, recycling and emptying points are well marked and the grounds are kept well. Two water points are more than enough as well. We saw at least 50 species of wild bird from our lounge window every morning, looking out into open fields. EHU is 10A on a good quality supply and a generous 10kWh of power per day which was more than enough for us. Dogs welcome on leads due to the old cat and wild hares which are abundant, (the hares that is).0.5m away there is a local pub which does food and well worth the visit. Dog walking is easy. A public footpath over fields 50m from the site entrance for the grassed paths and if you walk to the pub you can do a coastal walk to the next town along a disused railway line which has been paved. The quality of the pre arrival information is first class and if you follow their instructions and not the crapnav you get to arrive safely. Otherwise the satnav directs you down a very narrow lane which is nearly non-navigable. They also have an on line guidebook which is first class. Excellent site, good value for money, a credit to the CL network which we are happy to recommend.

Fantastic four nights

We have just returned from a fantastic four night stay at Herons Wood with our four year old granddaughter. The site delivered all that was promised with some wonderful eateries nearby and places of interest a short drive away. Immaculately kept, big pitches and fabulous views from each one. We even had the opportunity to view the perseid meteor shower on the 13th, a day late but still plenty of action in the night sky. Would most certainly stay again

Very spacious site and beautifully kept

Plenty of space on this lovely site which is very well maintained. Friendly owners who explained everything and gave some recommendations of places to visit. Ideal location for visiting lots of places in the area - Lancaster (the castle is well worth a visit) Morecambe Bay, Blackpool, Lake District, Kirkby Lonsdale (very pretty). Can highly recommend

Excellent CL

Excellently managed CL. Warm welcome from Sarah and William, very well maintained, lots of room. Everything you would expect from a high quality CL site. Very impressed. A great base to visit Lancaster, Arnside and Silverdale, The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Plenty to do and see. Remote coastal walks at Cockerham Sands only two miles away and Wallings Ice Cream parlour is a must.

Lovely clean CL

Spacious, clean and peaceful though there was a bit of road noise during the day. Glad we had the hard standing for our motor home which was level as the grass pitches sloped a bit. There is a nice dog walk at the bottom of the field and we spotted hares on site. The facilities were spotless.

Deers and Hares

Immaculately maintained CL, very good joining instructions sent in advance of travel so you know what to expect, (road closure from the southerly approach). Lovely views all round, 2 inquisitive deers visited within 20 yards of us in the adjacent field and several hares within the CL. If you like smoked food/fish visit the Lancashire Smoke house in Glasson Dock, a few minutes away, best meaty kippers and so much more, enjoy. This CL is on our list to stay again when in the area. Thank you Sara

Well kept, quiet and friendly

This is a very well kept CL site with basic facilities. There is an ehu on each pitch, water tap at one end and water disposal is down hill, which is a bonus. The hosts Sarah and William are friendly and happy to chat and help out. Worst part about getting there is if you come off the M6 at jct 33 do not follow the satnav and go down the B road Condor Green rd but carry on the A6 into Lancaster and return on the A588 and the site will be on the left just after the dog training place. the B road is a nasty narrow single track road that has frequent on coming traffic inc trucks. That said Herons Wood site is worth the extra couple of miles being just 5 mins from Lancaster and 20 from the coast and the peace you would expect from a CL. I include the what3words to the site entrance as this will make it easier to locate and I think CL hosts should start putting these on their site info for those using Google maps. what3words parent.accent.genius will get you there.
