Ease of arrival/welcome

A hidden gem close to so many delightful attractions.

We arrived with a warm welcome from Mrs Cooper, who gave an update on what she had done during lockdown. Four level hardstandings have been created giving easy siting. The ehu’s are easily accessed and offer 6amp power which ran our fridge freezer, tv and lights. The site is adjacent to three fishing lakes that you can wander round at leisure. There are comprehensive recycling facilities and two toilets for the CL usage. Around the CL, children and adults can enjoy seeing the Alpacas, donkeys, horses and peacocks. We enjoyed the adjacent woodland walk which leads to other opportunities to use access to both Mawdesley and Eccleston villages. You can also find numerous paths to take longer walks. Within five miles of the site there are three interesting attractions, Heskin Hall craft centre and cafe, Bygone Times, antique centre is a fascinating place with many stalls etc and Cedar Farm craft centre where a monthly farmers market is held. Ruffled Old Hall is NT house with a good history and a little further away is Southport (20 miles) Lytham St Anne’s and Blackpool for seaside resorts. We could only spend one night to try out our van after lockdown but we definitely return for a longer stay soon as it is a great place to escape and enjoy the area.
