We spent three nights here to attend a concert in Manchester and a gig in St Helens,We visited the Red Squirrel colony at Formby,and Antony Gormleys Another Place on Crosbie Beach as well as the Trafford Shopping Centre for a little retail therapy!! All these destinations are less than an hours easy drive away,so the site is pretty well located. We were welcomed by the owner who showed us where all the facilities were,even down to the reset switches for the electrics.(Only 6 amps avail so presumably outfits trip out fairly often)We had no problems with 1kw fan heater,fridge,battery charging and Avtex 10" t.v. Although the weather had not been very wet(up to our arrival!)the field was quite soft and indeed our neighbours with a Mondeo left the car in the stackyard after cutting up the field quite badly. It was obvious that a recent motorcaravan visitor had experienced fun and games upon leaving. There are two W.C.s with basins but only cold water and these are well kept. We were charged £8-00 per night which we feel is fairly cheap for the facilities on offer. Overall we would return to this site happily and would recommend confidently,with the proviso that visitors in winter need to ask the condition of the site on booking.Members with a well shod A.W.D. should have no problem but 4wds with overwide ultra low profile road tyres may well have a different experience.
