A lovely CL

We really liked this CL. We had pitch 4 in the corner by the owl box and it suited us very well. John is a super man and a fount of information. He's also a caravanner and this shows because he has really thought out this site. He brought us leaflets and told us where to walk the dog safely. He also let me hold Ollie his tame barn owl. So beautiful. These are fully serviced pitches and there is a beautifully thought out rubbish, chemical disposal and water area. We didn't use the shower room as we have good facilities on board. A very secure site as there is a permanently locked gate (you have a key). Opposite is Danes Dyke nature reserve and a daily early morning dog walk through the reserve to the fabulous beach was one of the highlights. Flamborough Head gets quite a lot of visitors but we had several meals there and it is totally dog friendly. As are all the local beaches. We did not care for Bridlington, were rather taken with Filey and were blown away (literally!) by RSPB Bempton Cliffs. John will tell you of good places to watch birds, but the sight of Gannets, Oystercatchers, Razor Bills and dear little Puffins nesting in their thousands on these cliffs is not to be missed. We loved the area. Oh, and as an aside, we though pitch 1 was fine. John will agree it is a smaller pitch, but we could have made van, awning and car work perfectly well. The high hedges might block the view. They also stop the wind blowing your head off as it does get pretty windy in that area! We thought John was a man who would really go out of his way to make your stay as good as possible. I think you would go a long way to beat this one - we had a great time and would certainly return if we were ever in the area again.

Not as good as earlier reviews would suggest

I may be a lone voice, but we were not totally enamoured by High Breame. Other reviewers had commented on the large & spacious pitches, but on arrival for a 7 night stay, we were told that we had been allocated Pitch No 1, which was certainly not large. If we'd had an awning there would not have been room for our car alongside. We expressed our unhappiness, & asked if we could move during the week to any other pitch as it became vacant. The answer was an emphatic NO. We did consider moving elsewhere, but having driven a long way to get there, decided to stay & make the best of it. Pitch No 1 does have the advantage of being near the toilet emptying facility, all of 5 yards away, & is overlooked by a static van, which fortunately was unoccupied for the majority of our stay. The site does also have the advantage of being fully serviced, but the wifi is very intermittent, sometimes quite good, but non existent at other times. Security is very good with a lockable gate for which each caravanner is given a key. There is no specific dog walk, but there is access to a field only 150 yards down the road, which was very convenient. Over the years we have stayed on well over a hundred CLs, but at £17 this was the most expensive & would certainly not be in our Top 10.

Perfect Weekend Away

We had an unexpected opportunity to have a long weekend away over the spring Bank holiday, the only problem on the Thursday afternoon was finding a site that was not fully booked! After spending 2 hours trawling the Club and other websites and having made a number of calls which were not fruitful, I tried this site. I was in luck - due to a mechanical problem with their car, one of the pitches had become available. The site is run by the very friendly John and Kim and we could not have been made more welcome. The site is lovely and peaceful. It is very enclosed so while it doesn't afford ranging views, it is very tranquil and a locked gate ensures privacy and security. The pitch had it's own water, EHU and grey waste drain - very well equipped for a CL. There is an additional charge of £2 per night for access to the shower / toilet hut which is worth it because the shower was lovely the room spotless. all in all we have had a lovely weekend here - helped as always by great weather. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and care into not just the presentation of the site but also in how it is run. If you fancy visiting Flamborough and the surrounding area - this is an ideal choice.

Fantastic CL in stunning surroundings

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this CL and we must say we were very impressed. It is not the cheapest CL but when compared to the prices at the nearby Bridlington CMC site, it is very good value. The toilet and shower are housed in the same room and are spotlessly clean (An engaged/vacant sign would be handy John!). There is a £2 optional charge for the toilet and shower which is beneficial to those who prefer to use their own facilities. Each pitch has its own waste water drain and water tap so is a superpitch in effect. The pitches are large, short grass pitches. John was very friendly and welcoming, even bringing the resident barn owl (Barney) around so we could hold it. He was generous with his time, explaining about the facilities and the local area. Flamborough and the surrounding countryside is stunning. We walked for many miles around the headland and saw quite a few Puffins. It is beneficial to take binoculars with you. If you go to the nearby RSPB Bempton Cliffs, you get free entry worth £4 each if you show your CMC membership card. We will definitely be returning to this CL in the future.

A true jewel in the crown

Just returned from a 7 night break and enjoyed every peaceful minute. From arrival when John helped to pitch and even had bits of waste pipe to reach the grey waste. Total peace and quiet all week. we will return next year for several occassions. Thanks John for a great holiday.

Great CL on Yorkshire Coast

Quiet CL on the edge of Flamborough village and walkable to all the facilities ie. shops, pubs and chippy! Owners are very welcoming and have set up the CL with individual electric and water points to each pitch and in spite of heavy recent rain all pitches in good condition. The CL is bounded by a tall leylandii hedge which creates calm and peace but unfortunately and obviously no views. Would definitely come again to visit this splendid CL.

First experience of CL

Just returned from a long weekend stay at High Breame.  Our first stay on a CL and if this is the normal standard we have been missing out!  Can't rate this site highly enough.  John and Kim are very welcoming and the location of the site is perfect for visiting local beaches and landmarks. Lovely walks for the dog close by. WC, shower, mains water and drainage are a bonus.  Have already booked for next year!

High Breame

Had a week at the site in mid July, helped by glorious weather! The site is set well back from the road and quiet. Each pitch has its own water and waste point so it's worth taking the right equipment. There's plenty to do in the area and we would definitely use the site again if we are in the area.

Just as a cl should be

Have just returned home after spending an excellent 10 days at High Breame. There is nothing much I can say which hasn't already been said in praise of this excellent cl. John and Kim are superb hosts who take an obvious pride in what they have created. We will be back
