A lovely CL
We really liked this CL. We had pitch 4 in the corner by the owl box and it suited us very well. John is a super man and a fount of information. He's also a caravanner and this shows because he has really thought out this site. He brought us leaflets and told us where to walk the dog safely. He also let me hold Ollie his tame barn owl. So beautiful. These are fully serviced pitches and there is a beautifully thought out rubbish, chemical disposal and water area. We didn't use the shower room as we have good facilities on board. A very secure site as there is a permanently locked gate (you have a key). Opposite is Danes Dyke nature reserve and a daily early morning dog walk through the reserve to the fabulous beach was one of the highlights. Flamborough Head gets quite a lot of visitors but we had several meals there and it is totally dog friendly. As are all the local beaches. We did not care for Bridlington, were rather taken with Filey and were blown away (literally!) by RSPB Bempton Cliffs. John will tell you of good places to watch birds, but the sight of Gannets, Oystercatchers, Razor Bills and dear little Puffins nesting in their thousands on these cliffs is not to be missed. We loved the area.
Oh, and as an aside, we though pitch 1 was fine. John will agree it is a smaller pitch, but we could have made van, awning and car work perfectly well. The high hedges might block the view. They also stop the wind blowing your head off as it does get pretty windy in that area! We thought John was a man who would really go out of his way to make your stay as good as possible. I think you would go a long way to beat this one - we had a great time and would certainly return if we were ever in the area again.
