Ease of arrival/welcome

When we decided to go to this site we looked at the reviews, and were slightly put off by the last one. I am very glad to say that the last review was not our experience at all. The site was easy to find, easy to access, and we were welcomed on site. We had a choice of pitches and the friendly owner gave us advice and help pitching if required. Yes the site is sloping (except for pitches 1 to 3 which are flat), but there were plenty of ramps and blocks provided to cater for this, and it didn't cause too many problems in pitching the awning. The site was well maintained, grass cut, bins emptied etc. There were the usual facilities water (with a hose reel), waste into the hedgerow, toilet emptying point. We did not find the road busy or noisy. Pitches 1 to 3 (by the road) would of course get more road noise. There was some pedestrian traffic from the footpath between pitches 3 and 4, but this was not intrusive. The site is well situated for local attractions / places to visit / walks etc, and was a 10 minute car drive into Ashbourne for shopping. The vilage of Tissington, with it's various attractions and trail, was about a mile away. We found this site very accomodating, as we have a large caravan, awning and 4 dogs.
