The perfect caravan site for CL lovers

We have just enjoyed our second stay at the excellent Hollytree CL site and we will definitely return here when next visiting York. The site can best be described as a small park, with neatly mowed lawns and a variety of shrubs and trees around it's perimeter. There's actually space enough for 25 caravans so even when all 5 pitches are occupied, there's oodles of space for everyone. A circuit of gravel driveway around the site allows for easy access to all of the grass pitches, and the wide entrance gate should allow easy access for all unit sizes. The covered service area for chemical and grey water disposal is clean and well maintained and provides for the needs of CL lovers who are happy to use their caravan's facilities. As well as being conveniently located a short walk from the village of Dunnington, a big bonus for us was the nearby Grimston Park and Ride (a 7 minute drive) which we used for our visits into the city. This lovely CL Site is a real credit to owners, Mr and Mrs Hornby.

A Gem of a CL site

We were recommended this site from a regular who couldn’t speak highly enough of it so thought we would give it a try. Wow!! He was right, this is an immaculately kept CL which is lovely and flat. It has a little hut with lots of leaflets for places to visit, takeaways to try, walks to go on and the local pub and bus timetable. The cross keys is a short walk away and is very welcoming. The village of Dunnington is very pretty and lots of local shops to visit. At night the site is peaceful and quiet. Louise kept us informed of where to pitch on arrival and the access code as we were arriving late. All in all would we return….. absolutely!!!

Tranquillity at its best!

This was our first ever short in stay (2 nights) in our new motorhome. We were met on arrival by John who was very helpful as we needed the security gate access code to enter the site. The water supply, refuge bin & waste water/CDP were all easily accessible. The site was immaculate! Grass cut with no grass cuttings and the ground appeared level. Such a spacious CL site. The local village is a short walk away from the site. We ventured into the historic city of York by catching the no: 10 bus adjacent to the Old Butchers cafe. Although we didn't eat at the cafe, we did sample refreshments but the food looked amazing (we must try next time!). Bus into/from York takes about 25mins. We had a thoroughly peaceful & tranquil short break. Thanks to John & Louise for making our first ever CL site experience memorable. This is a must stay site! We will definitely be staying at this gem again! Mr & Mrs Norman 26 June 2022

Lovely relaxing stay

We stayed here for 3 nights, left this morning. Louise met us at the gate on Saturday, explained where everything was and directed us to our pitch. Info hut, toilet waste, fresh water and rubbish all very clean and tidy. We had the centre pitch all to ourselves. Village is fab, supermarket, coffee shop, bakery, newsagents, takeaway, pub, what more do you need. The site is next to the local sports field/club. It was great to see the village supporting their football and cricket. Great walk to Haggs Woods starts from the side of the site. Bus stop a short walk away, we had a day trip into York. Lovely and peaceful, lots of birds, we had a visit a couple of times from the local chicken and the rabbits came out later in the day. We will certainly be back. Thank you 😊

An Excellent CL

This CL is immaculate and is everything a CL should be. Lovely short grass with a well-engineered access track, spacious, very clean and tidy and clearly efficiently run by the owners. A no-fuss booking and arrival regime made for a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.
