The booking was simple and easy and done over the phone, the landlady just got my membership number. Arriving on the site, the signage does not really show you the proper direction as there are other signs for the fruit picking business. Use of pictograms could help. The site it self is a lovely spot, quiet and beautiful with the sheep grassing nearby. However, it is difficult to understand that some part of the fence around the camping site is electrical while most others are not. A live electrical fence does not call for a 'family friendly' site or a 'dog friendly' site. Neither does the landlord's/landlady's extremely aggressive dog, who did not hesitate to run hundreds of meters around the fruit field to un-motivated attacking and biting our female Cocker Spaniel. Even the landlady noticed the attack, she didn't bother to come around and have a conversation. Apparently a 'normal' and acceptable event for her. However, and a BIG however. It should be fairly anticipated that one can walk SAFELY with a dog from the campsite and to the public road without being attacked and bitten by a uncontrollable aggressive dog. Following the attack, we walked back to our caravan and had to take the car to bring us safely up to the nearby pub for our dinner. Two days after, sitting here on a Sunday afternoon, the landlord's dog is still walking freely around and coming down to the campsite and I have had to close my door so feel safe, in 32 degrees C. Not acceptable at all. I will strongly recommend that the Club is paying a visit here and reconsider if this site should be a CL? End of day, it must be possible to walk safely to the public road with a dog without being attacked and in fear of such.
