Hard standing too small

Easy access from the motorway and you shoiuld expect motorway traffic noise and the local traffic helicopter at times, but acceptable when on a journey. There are no photos of the hard standing pitches on this web site. It looks like the hard standing area has been added in the existing grass areas. We stayed during early January and a very wet winter so far. The hard standing is too narrow and the width of the caravan causing 2 problems 1. You step out onto the grass and during this wet winter not good as it is then muddy. 2. The track in front is soi narrow that when you reverse in or drive out you have to go i nto the mud the far side and the caravan also is in the mud as the hardstanding is not wide enough to swing. We could have been in trouble without a 4 x 4! Looking at the second CL area they have the same problem appears to be there. There is a good dry hard trackfoir walking the dog down towards the woods but expect the footpath in the woods to be very muddy. For a small dog we did not have to go into the woods. Great pub retaurant the Masons Arms just up the A38 and very reasonable prices.

Dear Footlooserv

What a wet winter it was !  I sympathise with you with regards the mud, we have never known a winter like it on the farm and were unable to plant any of our usual winter crops. You will be pleased to hear that during lockdown we paid to have all the hard standings on the CL lifted and re-set and added more gravel on top so the site is now open and ready for customers once more.  They are wide enough for a caravan or motorhome but cars do need to park on the grass to the side or on the gravel to the front of the van depending on length.
