Ideal site if you like peace and quiet!

Made an overnight stay here on way back home. The site has plenty of room for 5 units so you hardly notice others. Limited facilities but OK if self contained. At 2023 they now charge £10 cash and worth it. Great as a stopover for South Coast, Dover is not too far, or to explore the area. Definitely come back if down this way again.

Great site and very good value

We really like this site and we’re very happy we found it. Access is easy from the A252. There is lots of space and the two fields are in good condition and pretty flat. The owners are very friendly and relaxed and responded very quickly to my initial enquiry . If you don’t need EHU and have your own loo and shower this a fabulous, quiet rural site. We’ve stayed several times now and have booked to go back.

Idyllic

Beautifully maintained, level, protected by hedges/trees all round. Fabulous views across wooded valley. Friendly relaxed owners. 20 minutes from Canterbury city centre, half hour from Whitstable seafront, but completely rural and peaceful. Only warning - don't trust your satnav if it picks the shortest route from the M2, as that entails some really narrow single track lanes: not fun. Much better to approach via the A28 and A252, turning off at Chilham. It's a steep climb, but less than a mile, up the approach lane, and infinitely preferable to losing a wing mirror to an oncoming van as we did on the satnav's suggested route. Would also make a great stop over for cross-channel trips.

Peaceful CL

What a lovely site! Came with another friend, the kids and dogs. Very welcoming and friendly and couldn't fault the facilities, water point and toilet emptying. It was so peaceful, yes it's on a working farm, but the noise of tractors passing was very minimal. Slightly sloping in places, but was not an issue and very well kept field and clean, surrounded by hedges and trees and when the sun shines it's like a sun trap. Just make sure you follow the directions given and not a Sat Nav. Will definitely be going back.. Thank you for a lovely stay.

One of the Nicest CL's We've Stayed At

This is a beautiful kept CL with plenty of space. Grass was extremely flat and well looked after. Good TV signal. Lovely Views with a friendly owner. Canterbury is a lovely city. The site is about 10minutes drive from the park and ride and a retail park with a Morrisons. It is about 15-20 minutes into Canterbury but parking was quite expensive. In relation to the noise, we can only say we found this site quiet and relaxing. There was no road noise as it really is in the countryside and their was only the odd tractor went by. However, we found the owner very helpful so I'm sure if people wanted to ask if it was a noisy time then she would tell you.

not always peaceful

We appreciate this site is known as a quiet and peaceful one, but want to warn others that it is not always so. The owners run a logging business from the premises and when we stayed in September 2015 this was very noisy and ruined our stay. We suggest speaking to the owners first regarding the current noise level, otherwise a beautiful site.

A Quiet Haven with Views

Delightful CL with views down over the Kent countryside. Owners friendly and helpful. Sunny weather enhanced our very peaceful two night stay. Ideally situated for a relaxing break with some exploring on foot to Chilham and the surrounding area. Canterbury and Ashford only a few minutes drive. A great CL location enabling us to use our full caravan facilities. We look forward to a return visit.

Peaceful Get Away

This was our first time on a CL in our new caravan. We had fantastic weather which was a real bonus as we enjoyed the beauty and tranquillity of Howletts Farm. The owners are very friendly and helpful allowing you to pick a spot that suits you. Make sure you follow the instructions to get there and not your SAT nav! We explored the little Tudor village in Chilham which is very quaint and Shelly's tea rooms served yummy lunch and scones. We have family in the area and we will definitely be back to this CL.

Howletts Farm Shottenden Kent

This was our 3rd outing as caravaners and our first at a CS site and we were bound over by such a beautiful location. Access is OK but the field itself could cause some problems if wet. Having said that this is a working farm so I am sure there would be no issues getting help. You can plot yourself anywhere on a massive field and the views over the North Downs are breathtaking. It is very peaceful and you can hardly hear any noises. You have access to mains water and waste disposal but no electric. There was only one other van using the site when we were there. The costs are very reasonable. If you know the area there are plenty of places to visit and you are halfway between Canterbury and Ashford. We will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Peaceful site, easy access, great views with things to do near by

We came for an Easter break, no other vans present. Lovely views across the valley facing south. Things to see locally, a little bit of a trip to Whitstable, but not too far. Easy to get to by road. Once you know the farm you can access directly by road avoiding the centre of the farm. Owners very friendly and helped us off when we struggled. We will be returning.
