Final site of the September Autumn Gold 2020 tour
This was an unexpected bonus extra night on the 2020 Autumn Gold September tour during the return home to S.West Scotland.
It is in a beautiful valley and river location just a couple of miles on from the top end of Moffat. The booking was straightforward and easy to do and clear instructions given as how to arrive at the site. Yes the site is up a cul-de-sac lane which is narrow in some parts but very little traffic was using it during the stay so no problems and well worth the few minutes of concern about a vehicle coming the other way ... passing places exist anyway! The 5/6 hardstandings at the site are narrow for sure but there is plenty of space either side of them to pitch an awning if desirable ... a couple had picnic benches as well Didn't see any 'pools of water' on the hardstandings even though the arrival was in rain conditions. 2 Water taps were available and no more than a few metres from any of the hardstandings.The spotless and clean single shower and toilet amenity block was fine though I do agree there was a small area of flaky paint on one wall so a lick of paint would brighten it all up. The CDP and grey waste disposal was no problem at all and included a good length of hose attached to a water tap for cleaning down. On the evening of the stay the skies cleared revealing a plethora of stars to wonder at whilst listening to owls on the prowl. The following day dawned lovely and sunny with fingers of mist on the hills and above the line of the river.
This site hit the mark and finished of the tour in delightful fashion. A Gem not to be missed and for sure is a 'return to' site
