Relaxing break

We have recently enjoyed a couple of wonderful days on this CL. The views are terrific and it was great to stroll up the farm track adjoining the field and to see bluebells (English variety), celandines and wood anemones. We also enjoyed watching the day to day workings of the farm. Make sure you take your binoculars as there is so much to observe. Thank you Mr and Mrs Bray.

OUTSTANDING SITE WITH GREAT VIEWS

We have just spent two separate weeks on this site this year and have enjoyed the peace and tranquility the venue offers. Views of the countryside are outstanding and beautiful. The owners Mr and Mrs Bray are very welcoming. We have stayed on this site four times in the last two years and would thoroughly recommend it. The walks are numerous and easy to find without maps. It must be understood, like many, this is a working farm but this does not detract from the experience. They offer water and electric to each pitch which is great for £15.00 per night. During one stay this year, one member did not adhere to club rules which concerned the owners, showing how they care for their customers. They made us aware and we appreciated this greatly. We have been Caravanning since the seventies and prefer the small friendly sites and if we require the full facilities we would go to the main Club sites where these are available. As we said this is a full working farm and you will find farm buildings etc. These however does detract from the site. We have found the owners to be very accommodating, even by letting us wander freely over the farm, keeping to the paths. In conclusion if you are looking for a tranquil site this is for you. We give this site a five star rating.

Peaceful haven

Very peaceful site with well spaced pitches and, best of all, taps on every pitch. The grass was very long when we arrived, the only reason for my overall rating of 4 rather than 5 stars, but was cut a little shorter after a few days. The surroundings are beautiful, with ample footpaths providing a different dog walk each morning. The village of Compton has a small shop and pub, and there are a few more amenities in Westerdon, including good fish and chips. The site is quiet during the day and silent at night but, like previous reviewers, we would avoid during harvesting as the grain dryer is adjacent. We would return to this site for its tranquillity alone but it is also ideally situated for exploring Hampshire and West Sussex.

August break

We spent two nights on this C L nice & quiet for us. No one greeted us on arrival, but that was not a problem, we just pitched up & relaxed for two days. The only problem i came across was trying to find where to dispose of your rubbish! We ended up taking our rubbish home with us. The C W P was very clean indeed.

Great site if the grain dryer is not in use.

The site itself was very good, with individual water taps by each electricity post, sloping but not to bad, with a footpath walk to the village with shop and pub, but whilst we were there the gain dryer was run from lunch to 9.30 pm. This exhaust pipe from the dryer ( we had been told it would be working when we booked) pointed almost directly to the site and not only was there a lot of noise but a considerable amount of dust was blown all over the caravans on the site. On 2 days when the dryer was not running then it was an ideal CL. We would go again but not during the harvest!

Peaceful farm

The five well-spaced pitches are on a grassed section of a field overlooking farmland and farm buildings. You will need levelling ramps. The road in from the village is narrow, but fine for a motorhome, despite there being a width restriction sign in a bush at the start of the road. Friendly greeting from the lady from the barn conversion. Totally peaceful, no noise at all. We used this as a quiet overnight stopover, for which it is well-suited.

Great for Walking

Very well managed and laid out CL with each pitch having its own electricity and water. The location is mostly very beautiful but in one direction there are farm building and a grain dryer. It is a farm after all! The one problem we had when we stayed was that the grain drier was noisy, but it was switched off at night. This would only be a problem in later August early September I would imagine. Walking from the site into the South Downs is excellent.

Couldn't ask for more!

This was our first ever caravan trip and was thrilled with the site. Great surroundings, lots of walks suitable for dogs. Owners were very pleasant. No mobile signal at all (Vodafone and EE) - but this suited us perfectly - no interruptions!

Nice site

We stayed here for 5 nights, it was quiet with nice views. Great having our own drinking water tap. Owners were friendly. Would stay here again if in the area.

Quiet heaven

What a lovely site, peaceful with beautiful views. We were welcomed by the owner then left to our own. Just what the doctor ordered. You do need levelling blocks but these were available to use. There are many walks direct from the site, one walk starts at the end of the drive through the maize field to the village which has a pub and lovely tea room, excellent.  Will definitely return
