June/July Visit

This was our third visit to this site and Jon and Vicky made us really welcome. This is a lovely site with views of the surrounding countryside of Salcombe and you can just see the estuary of Kingsbridge. The site field is all grass and is partly inclined but the top is flat with the best views. The CL part of the field is roped off and at the top of the field. The field become a little boggy with all of the rain in June but Jon was quick to help if you had a problem getting off or on the site. The toilet and shower block is clean but old and could do with upgrading but as we have a toilet and shower in the caravan we didn’t need to use the onsite facilities. There is a lovely walk from the site to Salcombe along narrow country lanes which pass fields and thatched cottages which is about 2 miles but is well worth the effort. You can always catch the bus back which passes the top of the lane of the site. This bus also goes to Kingsbridge and other areas. There are two pubs in the nearby Malborough which sell real ale and do meals. There is a path all the way from the top of the lane from the site to Malborough so you don’t have to walk on the road but don’t forget a torch as it’s unlit at night. We love Salcombe, it’s a lovely area and this site and will certainly be visiting again.

Comment from Community Manager:

Thank you for leaving a review and we are delighted you enjoyed your time at the site. The CL owner has contacted us to advise that this year (2013) they have been able to fully refurbish their toilet and shower facilities to a high standard (these facilities are shared with a nearby commercial site). They now have free hot water to all wash basins, new showers (20p meters), new tiling throughout and soap dipensers and hand drier. Jon and Vicki look forward to seeing customers old and new, especially if the weather stays sunny and warm!
