Very neat and peaceful, spotless shower block

This site is really convenient for Stafford and surrounding area to the North and East in particular. We initially parked in the incorrect field - which was itself pretty good, but you need to make sure you go to the correct adjacent field which is even better - wide open space and exceptionally quiet, with only 5 hard standing pitches with EHU which are well spread out. Also great facilities for chemical toilet disposal. Very good stay, very secure (with keypad gated entry) if that is something important to you. As in the title - excellent shower block (remember your £1 coins!)

Our first, and last, visit to this site

Our booking was made via email and text with instructions to phone for the access code to the gate when we arrived. On arriving on site we phoned but had no reply so had to wait for a return call. We were given the code and told to pitch anywhere on site so we drove behind the statues to the adjacent CL field. After pitching we had a walk around the main site where there were a few units pitched, these seemed to be full-timers rather than tourers. There was one caravan on the CL which again appeared to be a seasonal as there were people working on it during the day but no-one on site overnight. The photographs on the website appear to be old as they show the main site and not the CL (this is in the field behind the statues and the hardstandings are not seen in the photograph). The website also states the WC and Showers are exclusive, but these are shared with the main site and are not on the CL. The facilities block is poor - cold, grubby and mouldy. The back of one of the toilet doors in the gents was hanging off, exposing several nails and the handle was loose on one of the shower doors so it could not be locked. Showers are an additional charge of £1.00 per shower. On our second evening I went to the ladies to find the door was jammed and couldn't be opened so I phoned Adele to report the issue. Again, there was no reply so I had no alternative but to use the gents facilities. The following morning the door was still stuck on the ladies block so again I had to use the gents facilities. At no time did we see anyone cleaning or maintaining the facilities - just notices everywhere to phone Adele or Bill if there are any problems. Having read the previous reviews we felt like we had stayed on a different site to other reviewers - the only positive point is that it was quiet overnight!

One Night Stopover

My wife and I, plus our dog, stayed here for a one night stopover on the way to the Cotswolds. Booking was easy by phone, and I spoke to a very pleasant and helpful lady. Arrival and entry was easy. The site is exactly as shown in the photos, very clean and well kept. Toilets and showers were very clean. Dog walk is a good sized area. Would stay here again and recommend.

Hidden gem

Was slightly hesitant 0n booking as not used a CL site before and lack of reviews but need not have been, all level pitches with own electric and tap, peaceful location and great if going to Stafford County Showground. Newly built toilet/shower block and very clean (shower £1 coin) and site has a coded security gate. Would definitely use again.

First visit for 1 night and familerising myself

Definatly visiting again although the road entering to the site is narrow, Adele was polite and friendly when I phoned to make her aware of my arrival nice and quiet all with hardstanding pitches with fresh water taps although I wasnt aware that the pitch i parked on i realised the next vaccated one had the tap nearer closer. Toilets and shower new and spotless, barrier gate and CCTV for security making it safer for our members.

1st visit

Arrived and welcomed by owner and manager. Was rather surprised to be charged £24 night plus £3 night for our dog when its advertised as £20. (£27/ night does seem a lot) Although pitches were clean and large with semi serviced for water and EHU and good security with electronic gate. Toilets were non existent as they were getting built so used onboard facilities. I would say the site location is good for a one night stopover as its only a few minutes off the M6

Excellent first trip of the season.

We stayed here for 4 nights on 15th April and couldn’t have been happier. The location was easy to get to, Jan and Graham on site managers were friendly and helpful and the owners Adele and Bill were only a phone away when organising my “spur of the moment” caravan storage. The site looks brand new and each pitch has its own electric hook up and tap. The pitches are flat and set in beautiful county side, we will definitely be returning, thank you.

Overnight Success!

We required an over night stop on our way to the Lakes from Somerset due to bad weather coming in the following day and wanting to miss the worst of the weather. What a gem of a find this was. We required two pitches as we were travelling with family in a second unit and Mrs Thompson couldn't have been more helpful in accommodating us. We received a warm welcome when we arrived and all the pitches are excellent. Level, well maintained with easy to access to water points and electric close by. Just what you need when you arrive late in the evening and in the dark. They are doing a lot of work to make it even better for the future and we will happily stay here again.

Overnight stopover to Scotland.

Very tidy site indeed. Obviously been a lot of upgrading to site and it shows. Very impressive. Great communication with owners for arrival too. Hadn’t realised shower was closed which was a shame but understandable. Maybe a bit pricy considering that. They also charge per dog. £3. WC available though. Excellent walks just adjacent to site for dog walkers. Could walk for miles. Very pretty countryside.

A work in progress

We stayed on this site beginning of September when there was work going on to upgrade the pitches on the main site. At this time only the main site was in use but we understand from the owner that once work is completed (electric/water bollards on each pitch) any CL bookings will go onto a separate field, also hard standings. The owners have closed the showers and there is just one toilet open due to COVID which was ok when we were there as site wasn’t busy but if you don’t want to use your onboard shower I would suggest thinking again. COVID measures could be improved - no wipes/sanitizers in toilet and just industrial strength sanitizer at the gate ... yeuuch!
