I suspect many people will check out CL sites and skip past this one on price, at first glance it seems expensive. But wait! You skip past this on a search and you’re missing a real treat, stunning views, peace and tranquility, facilities that put some full sites to shame. When it says exclusive use of shower and toilet, this means it, literally each pitch has its own unit in the facilities block. No need for a portable loo and toilet tent, the furthest you are away from the facilities are 50 meters, so a short walk even during the night. You’re shower room toilet is no phone box either, more like a tardis, so much room and underfloor heating. The pitches are huge, we just had our camper as it was a short stay, but people had a car, caravan and day tent with room to spare. Each pitch overlooks the lake, you can watch the fishermen at your leisure, or you can just sit and admire the view. With the lovely town of Rye with its quaint streets and interesting shops close by, the small town of Tenterden and its steam railway, or if you just fancy a relaxing afternoon at the Chapel Down vineyard and restaurant, nothing is too far. Yes, it is a little more expensive than most CL sites, but you get far more than a main site and certainly more than you’re expecting. If you scroll past this one, it is definitely your loss. We will be going back.
