We went to this site earlier this year and very much hope to be able to get in again soon. The facilities are beautifully kept and its just feels welcoming and cosy. We have two biggish dogs and were able to exercise them easily from the campsite which is a must for us.
The local area offers a lot of choice from small lochs, hillwalking, and seaside experiences.
Dumfries is close enough to shop daily if necessary without being too close to be a hinderance.
The local village is a short walk away over fields and offers a local shop, pub and cafe.
A rearly good site
The c/l site is very good overlooking the hills. Toilet on site, with 2 shower rooms and toilet on small site 90yds . These were the best we have ever been to spacious clean, chairs everything .you could not ask for The surrounding countryside is fantastic ,very peaceful roads ideal if you have a motor home. We would like to have stayed an extra night but full. Walking in area good pleasant walk down to village 15 min. Pub and local shop. Pub closes early if not busy closing up at 8.15 the one night .they do food from 5pm a few people eating most nights. This is one of the best stop we have had on any c/l
Reviews can be spot on!
All the previous reviews, believe them. This is what working farm CLs should aspire to. We will be back soon.
Perfect pitch.
A beautiful little site, trees and plants surround each pitch and the birds frequent the bird feeders in the trees. We enjoyed a very good welcome and will certainly visit again.

Cracking little CL
We stayed just one night whilst driving on the SWC300 route. Lovely people and probably the best CL we have used. Great location and very dog friendly. Provided a good toilet facility and each pitch was hardstanding with a table and bench. Lovely gardens with bird feeders making it a popular wildlife spot. Sometimes we pick routes and choose CLs along the way but occasionally you find one that you hope to return to and spend more time. For us, this site is one we will revisit when we get the chance. Would not hesitate to recommend.
What a find!
We have just stayed at this CL for 4 nights. We received a fantastic welcome and were impressed with how well kept the site was. The hard standing pitches were generous in size and surprisingly tranquil given its on a working farm. New Abbey is an easy walk away where there’s a fab local pub. We enjoyed some excellent walks around the area.
The road leading up to the CL is narrow but ok if you take it steady.
We will definitely be back! Thank you for looking after us so well.
Great little site
Stayed here for 2 nights in our motorhome with the dog. Very well organised CL. Pitches are well spaced, hard standing with pleasant views. We liked the painted farm machinery dotted around the place and old tractors in the barn, a nice bit of history. There was a loo on site which also doubled up as an info center. Good walks from site. We walked to town and had a nice meal at the local pub which was dog friendly, looked around Sweetheart Abbey. There is also a small village shop, tea room and gift shop and a mill that you can visit in town. A great little site. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Our visit to Landis Farm Nov.2017
We arrived on the 2nd Nov.to a warm welcome from Colin albeit the entry road is a little narrow ,we have a 29ft Motor home with a tow car but it just needs a bit of careful driving 👍The CL itself is a little gem (even in November) Colin and Sandra were excellent hosts ,on leaving Sandra drove in front of us to the main road to make sure our exit was clear 👍😊The birdlife on the site is brilliant with so many different species and feeders all around to attract them in.All in all a great 5 night stay .Thank you Colin and Sandra.

A First Class Site
As many have already written this CL is a little gem tucked away in the Dumfries countryside. We booked for 2 nights as a stop-over on the way to The Rhinns of Galloway but we will be back to spend more time in this beautiful area but I suspect we will have to book well in advance as these reviews will only make this CL even more popular. The site is very peaceful but is on a working farm so don't expect silence. The access lane from the main road is narrow with many twists and turns so needs to be taken steadily. The site is excellently maintained. Dumfries & Galloway is famed for it's 'Dark Skies' and there is very little extraneous light at night so take a torch if you want to pick your way to the toilet block after dark.
