What a cracking site - very well kept and we loved the farm machinery that was dotted about. Even before we arrived Sandra had kindly told us which car park to use near the Theatre Royal in Dumfries, where we were going on the Saturday night, which could accommodate the motorhome. She also recommended a local taxi firm if we decided not to drive into Dumfries. We had the pitch next to the goats and sheep, which kept us very entertained! A warm welcome on arrival from Colin, who told us the best way to get to the car park. Lots of well stocked bird feeders dotted around the site, which for nature enthusiasts like us was brilliant. The feeder across from our pitch was visited by a woodpecker. A lovely view of Sweetheart Abbey as you drive up the lonning to/from the farm and the site itself has some gorgeous views. We will definitely be back as we want to visit the New Abbey Corn Mill when the water wheel is working, but to be honest think we would just come up anyway for a nice, quiet, peaceful weekend stay at anytime.
