First outing in new caravan.

Having bought our van in the middle of 2020 lockdown we needed somewhere close to give the the van it's first outing and shakedown. The details on the club web site were limited but we were willing to take a chance and we were not disappointed. Beautiful green rural location on a stud farm with easy access and no narrow windy lanes to negotiate until you get to the farm entrance and that was easily wider than your average Devon lane and a good sized pitch to move around on. The field has a slight slope so some levelling was required. we were the first visitors they had this year and had the place to ourselves. With the greeting of the on-site live-in warden we were briefed on the facilities and left to set up. The guys around the yard were all friendly and allowed us to meet the horses, which for me was a great thrill. 5 minutes drive into Bovey Tracey which boasts a good size Co Op, Chinese Take Away and other amenities (some still closed due to Covid) but everything we needed was there. Plenty of local places of interest. Good pub in the village which currently has outside dining. Exeter 15 minutes away, Buckfast Abbey 20 minutes drive. We slept peacefully both nights and will revisit again for a long weekend. Push bikes will be taken on the next visit. Highly recommend for a quiet peaceful get-away-from-it-all stay.
