We were looking for a last minute weekend getaway in the area, and this place was perfect. We called late Friday on the way down, and both the lady we spoke to and the chap who came the next morning to collect the fee were lovely. It's a 20 mins walk into Rye either by the road or much better by the very easy footpath through the fields and down by the river. The facilities are only what's promised from a CL site, but what more do you expect for £6 per night. The views are spectacular to wake up to, and the local walks take you to some lovely pubs. it is a bit slopey if you're not up on the top, but you can find nearly level ground and the levellers take up the rest. A nice addition would be running water at the CDP, but it's no hardship to take a bottle of water with you. We would definitely be back here if visiting the area again, and as it's only 1.5hr from home I think we might well be doing just that.
