This is an utterly basic CL, providing only what is required. However we really enjoyed our week's stay at Leddon Farm overlooking a valley with Lundy in the distance. The area is great for walking and wildlife. The Hartland peninsula is often bypassed on the way to the well known resorts further south, but we find it charming with its stunning coast line and wooded valleys. Leddon Farm is less than five minutes walk from the Old Smithy PH (which you pass just before arriving at the CL. The Old Smithy is a free house and the land lord has created a unique venue with a varied pub food menu and a variety of beers on tap, including a couple of local ones. It is well worth a visit. It even has free WiFi which is useful as the data signal in the area comes and goes with the wind! Overall stunning value for £5 per night, even if it is just for the views.
