We have just returned from a super weekend here. We had a great welcome from the owner and a guided tour of the facilities. The pitches are immaculately kept and the views from the pitches are wonderful, although if it had been foggy they would not be good. The bus to Heben bridge stopped outside the site. If your fairly fit it is an easy walk down to Heben bridge, a steep uphill back but enjoyable. The Hare and Hounds 5 mins walk down the road does lovely food and Timothy Taylor's beers. Easy driving reach to Hardcastle Crag and the lovely walks there. Walks also from the site but we ran out of time to try them. It is a working livery so do expect some dirt in the facilities,which as a CL site they do not have to provide. Fresh water and toilet disposal point. Do follow the instructions in the book to reach here and NOT your satnav it can be tight at times but if the bus can do it!! A steep climb but worth it. We will be back.
