A beautiful tranquil site

This site is absolutely stunning, but it must be pointed out that there is another site directly adjacent and access is through Llanfadog Fields. At the time of our visit there were infrequent visitors so it didn't trouble us at all but may be a nuisance if it became busy The owner of the site was very friendly and helpful. A key for the gate needs to be collected in Rhayder and the handbook says to park in the Cattle Market. At the time of our visit there was a fun fair in the market which made life a little interesting for us as we started to drive in and then had to reverse out!! Not good with a long outfit. However, if you go to the crossroads in Rhayder and turn right towards Elan valley it is possible to park a little way down and walk back up to the owners shop. The site is well kept and there was a swankey shower block just being completed when we were there. Looked great although we always use our on board facilities. Apart from the above minor niggles, it really is a lovely site. Plenty of walking and cycling and a fantastic tea room (Penbont House) just a short distance away that is an absolute must. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return and recommend to others.
