Stunning Countryside

This site is deep in the Elan Valley and offers beautiful scenery and a remote location. The area of the site available to Caravans and Motorhomes is limited and the 1/2 acre in the description is accurate. The pitches are restricted by the access track to an adjacent non-club commercial site and a steep slope to the river. The former is not apparent when booking and shares the shower block, which provides 3 separate locking bathrooms each with shower, WC and basin. The other site was very quiet during our stay but if busy could make this facility less attractive. The steep slope to the river has the effect of providing an open space and makes the CL site feel spacious. The setting is fantastic but midges abound, this is Wales! Access to the remote and stunning Cambrian Mountains through the Elan Valley is very easy, the cycle path runs past the site. Stunning walks are available on the doorstep and the road leads to the mountain pass over to Aberystwyth and thousands of acres of moorland. I regard this as 5 star access to the locality but if ease of access to large towns and tourist attractions is your preference, this is not for you. Locking and unlocking the gate with the most awkward padlock I have ever used was a minor irritation but be warned that Rhyader is small with a very tight crossroads that is part of the main A44. Parking to collect the key can be entertaining. A fantastic location; the Cambrian Mountains never disappoint.
