A very pleasant stay

Having been caravanning for 3 years this was our first time on a CL site, and was a late booking. The directions were good and the site easy to access. The field was well mown and slightly sloping but nothing that a block couldn’t sort. To the rear was an ugly burnt out building which is a bit off putting, but this is the gin distillery which had had a fire a few weeks previously and will be re furbished in future. Although the pleasant view across the field is all you can see from the van. The toilet and shower are clean, although a separate toilet would be better, there were only 3 vans on site and when one person was having a leisurely shower at the same time as most peoples morning ablution time there was a long wait! There were plenty of footpaths within easy reach of the site and good dog walking, also a 15 min walk into Bedale. The bridge beer cafe is worth a visit, a great selection of beers and gins and good home cooked food and yummy cakes. There is so much on offer in the area that we will definitely be coming here again. The owner was pleasant and apart from calling in the eve to collect the money and explain what was what was not intrusive at all.
