Spacious and well situated

“Old School” CL site. Tap, EHUs, chemical disposal. Large flattish slightly sloping site with long grass that, as in the review from six years ago, had just been cut and left so clippings were a constant feature in the van. Beautifully located for extensive views around but not entirely peaceful. There is constant low level road noise from the B4632 that used to be the A46 and has scarily fast traffic. The works site in the next field isn’t at all disturbing. Note that the Club sat nav will take you to the owners house on the main road. The site is not there but up Gravel Pit Lane and through the farmyard. Easy access to Cheltenham and for walking up on Cleeve Common. We had the site to ourselves during fabulous weather in May and is wonderfully private.

Perfect for exploring

Lovely CL set in beautiful scenery with easy access to the stunning Cleeve Hill with great walking routes. Easy access to cycle in the lanes too. Prestbury village is less than 2km with a Sainsbury’s under 3km.

Site address

The site address is shown as Southam Road, along which we travelled in both directions, as were were unable at first to locate the site. It would be better if the address was shown as "Gravel Pit Lane" which is printed in the Sites Directory, and which was recognised by our SatNav. The actual road name sign was largely hidden from view by overgrowth. The site is affected by noise from an adjacent company's activities, and also here was some road noise from the nearby main road. The surface of the approch road (Gravel Pit Lane) is in a poor state of repair, with pot holes and road "humps", and we were told that the adjacent company should be giving this attention. This is long overdue; towing the caravan along this stretch had to be done very slowly. When we arrived the grass of the field was in need of cutting, which was done during the week we were there, leaving our caravan and another unit on an "island" of longer grass. Apart from the above, the site has excellent views of the hills around, and is central for visiting areas in the locality.

Brilliant for visiting Cheltenham and walkers

We stayed here on our way home from Cornwall and it's a great location, just over 2 miles into the town, close to the racecourse and right behind Cleeve Hill with the most amazing views and footpaths for miles. Site itself is clean, scenic and easy to access. Huge field and central electric points so you can park away from others. Lovely owner too. Would return.

This c/l is a great place to stay, the views are fantastic the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.We had a nice week in June, there is a local bus that you can catch from the village or you can park at Cheltenham race course park and ride into Cheltenham for all other buses. Very good walks from site good footpaths.Good pubs in village within walking distance. Will be visiting again soon.

Longmeade Farm

This was our second visit to this site, which we use to break up journeys to Wales. The site is handily situated for exploring the Cotswolds, and there is some excellent walking in the hills around Cheltenham. We did notice some noise from the site next door, but to be honest it wasn't intrusive. While I'd agree that the siting of the 'leccy' boxes means you aren't in a row, there are only 2 of them, so unless you have extension power cables, or are prepared to go 'off grid' then, while it's a 1 acre field, only about half of it is usable. This shouldn't, and doesn't detract from the site though and it remains a good base for exploring the area.

Relaxed CL

A great relaxing site. Bev the owner always makes you feel welcome. Great location just outside Cheltenham with plenty of local walking. Also good for eating out with lots of pubs within a couple of miles.

Not too impressed

We have stayed at this CL but were not too impressed for several reasons. There is a big contractor's yard just through the hedge which in the daytime was very noisy, also traffic noise was quite prominent from the nearby main road. £12 per night is too much to pay for this site. There is a local information box but most of the information was a couple of years or more out of date. The sign for the emptying point is getting hidden in the trees and folk were having some difficulty finding it. We never met the owner although we went to the farm on several occasionms and at different times. We put our payment in the envelope which was provided. This could be a good site if the noise stopped and it received a bit of TLC.

Great site!

What a great well planned site, the electric hook ups are down the centre of the field so if like us you don't want to be sited in a regimental row, your able to get well away from other vans. Lovely views and a good base for exploring surrounding areas, ie: Bourton on the Water, Stow on the wold, Ledbury, Tewksbury. Friendly laidback owner, would definately stay there again!

Longmeade Farm

This CL is set on a working farm at the bottom of Cleeve Hill. There's a footpath about 20 yards from the site leading up the hill with great views of the town, racecourse etc. The racecourse itself is about 15 mins walk from the site and you are about 30 mins drive from Bourton On the Water and the beauty of the Cotswolds. There are some hard standings in the yard that can be used in wet weather, both these and the field have electric hookups
