Peaceful and tranquil site

This is one of the best CLs we have stayed at. The owner Peter Sillibourne is always at hand should you need anything. The site is level and beautifully kept. The area for waste has been thoughtfully placed behind a flower covered fence and is clearly marked with all the recycling. Plenty of dog walks straight from the site through buttercup filled pasture and lots of different bird song.We stayed here last March and liked it so much returned this month 20th to 26th May 2018. We shall definitely return lots of times. George and Penny Jennings

Absolutely fantastic site

If you want a peaceful CL country retreat . Lords Farm is a 5 star find . Surrounded by level ( in use with crops ) farmland , and fields , used for sheep, had great swathes of buttercups , the pollen turned my footwear yellow , bright sunny warm weather with a light breeze ,views of the hills in the north helped make for outstanding day in the country . anyone could walk for miles if they chose to , there are lots of footpaths and byways . Only traffic noise was an occasional tractor . The entrance road is a good distance from the site ,so no traffic noise . The owner is very helpful if needed but he leaves visitors to enjoy his farm .Its dog friendly but the normal rules apply as one would expect Usual onsite CL facilities which are regularly checked . Honeysuckle , ( in full bloom with a marvellous scent which is hard to forget ) plus various bushes have been planted in lots of places and these add to the overall charm one always hopes to find on a CL . Great place as a base to explore Kent , main towns with good shopping , pleasant pubs etc, only 5 or 6 miles away , plus the sea side or places of interest , historical and or modern within easy reach . We stayed 5 days , they were excellent. A most enjoyable visit .

Perfect Weekend

My husband and I have just spent three nights at Lords Farm and absolutely loved our stay. The site is a spacious two acre field but they take a maximum of five caravans which for us is perfect. We had a lovely view of a field of sheep and enjoyed watching the lambs play. The only noise you can hear is the marsh frogs and the green woodpeckers. We walked locally from the site and visited Ruckinge village and Hamstreet and walked alongside the Royal Military Canal. We also visited Hamstreet National Nature Reserve for a lovely walk to see the last of the bluebells. We also visited Winchelsea Beach and had a long walk along the beach and back along the sea wall. The site is an ideal base to explore the local area and is handy for Ashford, Rye, Hastings and Camber Sands. It was only 45 minutes from home for us so we will definitely be returning when we only have time for a short break.

Enjoyed our stay

A pleasant open and scenic site away from busy roads, yet a good base to explore this part of Kent. Local pub the White Horse serves excellent food & is dog friendly. At time of our visit the heavy rainfall over the winter up till our stay in April left some parts of the field too soft to pitch, however there was still plenty of space for our caravan in the 2 acre field and the site was actually less waterlogged than where we live in Dorset. Friendly and helpful hosts made our stay all the more pleasant. Direct access from the site to the bridleway and footpaths are ideal for exploring the local area on foot and bicycle. Booked initially for 11 days, stayed on for a further 6 days as so enjoyed our stay and the sun when it eventually appeared.

A spacious tranquil site.

We have found this site after many visits to the area and we will be back. The site is reached by a long private track off of a very quiet lane and is very peaceful and safe for dogs. Alfie, our retriever loved the freedom and direct access to the bridle paths and the canal. The owners were friendly and helpful and the field is massive for only 5 vans. In November the field was firm and dry due to the surrounding drainage ditches. We saw several owles and families of young swans. Good beaches are within an easy 20 minute drive.

A little piece of Heaven

We stayed here recently as it was close to home and couldn't get away early on the Friday.....Well what a beautiful spot, the canal runs alongside the site which you can follow for beautiful walks, we heard the frogs at night but only managed to glimpse one as it stuck it's head out. Mr Sillibourne is very helpful, he met on his cycle to show us the best place to pitch as we are a long outfit. At the disposal area there are little white buckets with lids on to take to your caravan/motorhome to put your food waste in, very useful. As others have said it so peaceful and well worth a visit we will definitely be returning.

Great location

Lovely level, quiet & peaceful location in an interesting area of Kent. Simple & efficient facilities all well laid out. Great access to the Royal Military Canal & surrounding countryside. Great & easy walks from the site. We did a 5 hour round walk to Appleldore via the pub in Appledore. Great pub (beer, food, staff & atmosphere) in Warehorne called the Woolpack & they actively & positively like dogs!! Lots of wildlife spotted in & around the site. Site owner low key & was very helpful when we discovered we didn't have a spanner to remove gas valve to swap gas bottles. I called & he arrived 10 mins later. Cant ask for more. We'll be back.

Great for wildlife

Beautiful and peaceful surroundings; which make for a superb relaxing retreat. Have been coming here for years as live close by. On the many occasions that we have been coming here we have had wonderful wildlife encounters. Little Owls galore, Barn Owls, Short eared Owls close by, Buzzards, Marsh Harriers. On one occasion an Osprey on migration. Not to mention the many Hares that surround the site. The owners are lovely and sometimes have delicious fresh eggs for sale: What more could you want!
