A Perfect Spot

We arrived here on 8th September 2016, it just so happened to coincide with the most fantastic weather Yorkshire has had for a good while. We had booked for a 4 night stay, (I wish it could have been longer). There is absolutely nothing I could say bad about his site. The Views are "to die for". The owners are very welcoming and friendly, even the walkers that pass by have a "good morning/afternoon" for you. The choice of a hard standing or a grass pitch is yours. We pitched up to take full advantage of the views over the valley. Every morning while eating breakfast we would watch the Red Kites put on a flying display for us. If all the CL's that we intend to visit are anything like this one is, then we will have made the right choice to return to caravanning now that we are retired. Yorkshire at it's best!!. FANTASTIC.

One of those truly great little sites.

Hard to find anything negative to say about this site. The views are to die for. It is easy to access many of Yorkshire's attractions. The walking and cycling opportunities are great. All in all, it's a very relaxing site on which to spend a short break. You can even look forward to low level fly pasts by the red kite population at Harewood House.

Superb Site

Upon arrival we were placed on plot 3. Although we had to use some blocks it was no problem to get the caravan level on the hard stand.  The site was immaculate, even after all the bad weather. Nearby is The Crag and this is where we exercised our dogs. The working farm caused no problems and it was very peaceful and pleasant stay. The owner was very helpful and we would recommend this CL to any one.

The views alone sell this CL.....nice and quiet too. Handy for Harrogate and Knaresborough.

Great Place to relax

I've been on this site for the last 7 years and it is a place to base yourself to all the local places. With in 1 hour you could be in the Bronte Country or on the east coast, Leeds and Harrogate are on the door step and Harewood House just down the road. Local transport bus or train a walk down the road to catch them. The CL Has a choice of pitches grass or hardstanding but everyplace you pitch the view is out of this world. You could be any place in the world. I have never had a problem in putting up an awning and I have been on every pitch but you will need levelling blocks on some pitches. The owners are great and always make you very welcome. Just the place to relax with a view.

Location Location location

Just returned from a very pleasant stay at Lower Banks Farm. The Location and the scenery are superb. The site is clean and well maintained, that being said if you have to use the hard standing area (as we had to because the grass was too wet ) dont expect to be able to put an awning up.The Area slopes quite dramaticaly, pitch 1 on the hardstanding you may have a fighting chance to erect one, pitch 5 you can get one up, just. Pitches 2, 3 & 4 forget it, we started on pitch 3 and our hitch head was at waist height!! However once settled on pitch 5, when it became vacant, we started to appreciate the site. The views down the valley are wonderful and the Kites soaring overhead where magnificent to watch as was all the other wildlife we spotted from our pitch. Walks aplenty straight from the site kept us fit. would we go again? probably, would have to be on the grass though I think.

Grand Site.

Our first visit and it won't be our last. Easy access off a quiet lane along a 1/4ml tarmaced drive, ideal for walking ones dog last thing at night. The site has 5 H/S pitches with EHU, but should you prefer grass there is plenty of room on the site. The views from the pitches are extensive, across the valley of the R. Wharfe to the Harewood Estates. There are a number of footpaths from the farm and Almscliffe Crags are only a short distance away. The lanes leading away from the site are quiet and suitable for both walking and cycling. For the more hardcore mountain biker there are the man-made trails at Slaidburn forest less then 10 mls away. For those who do not wish to use there car/motorhome there is a station within walking distance where trains can be taken to Harrogate, 2 stops away, and in the other direction Leeds. I would presume that there is also a bus service in both directions from Huby, but we did not explore that alternative method of travel. The nearest supermarkets are at Otley and Harrogate both about 5 ml distance. As well as the normal farm animals there a pair of donkeys which occupy the field adjacent to the site, and are fun to watch. We will certainly return soon.

Nice CL with lovely views

Visited May bank holiday.  Excellent value for money and marvellous views from hard standing pitches. Easy to find (Sat Nav worked ok). Pitch where you want on arrival the further away from the entrance gate the more likely you will need some sort of levelling blocks. Walk to almscliffe crag is approx 20 minutes which is a nice morning dog walk on quet country lane and footpath with marvellous views from the top of the crag, weather permitting. Short drive to nearest pub and located 5 miles from Harrogate and Otley. Didn't meet the owners other than to pay and then we were only asked how many nights we were staying. Whilst it states advanced booking there was no deposit required. I am not overly bothered about a warm welcome etc although it is nice to know where to pitch and where to put grey water etc. previous visitors informed us that you pitch where you want, grey waste goes along the hedge and you visit the house to pay. An very nice CL for a long weekend or whilst visiting events in Harrogate or Harewood or as a stop off going North or South as it is within easy reach of A1.

Amazing Views

This CL is a great place to relax and enjoy the views. On a clear day you can see miles. The Owners are great and very welcoming. We now have used this CL many times. You can sit and watch the Red Kites fly around, a short walk up to Arnscliff Cragg and the views from here are 2nd to non. On a clear day you can see the White Horse on the North Yorkshire Moors and in the other directions the cooling towers at Castleford on the M62. Many local attractions around, it's a great place to visit Yorkshire. The CL is a working farm and the owners work hard to make your stay very enjoyable. It has 5 Hard standing pitches and if you don't like hard standing then the owners have made 5 grass pitches so plenty of room to enjoy your stay. Once you have been you will come back !

Peaceful Weekend

Just arrived back from a peaceful weekend at Lower Banks farm, this was an ideal site for a bit of peace and quiet and a nice walk in the surrounding countryside. Found a nice pub on the walk, The Hunters Inn, real ale and a large coal fire.
