What a fabulous site that we heartily recommend!! The owner was so nice and welcoming when we arrived. The toilets and free showers were spotless modern and heated, which was a blessing as it was cold when we were there. The pitches are all grass and on a slight slope so you will probably need blocks. As the site is a working farm there are chickens roaming round with cows and donkeys in the next fields. The site is very easy to access as it is just off the main road. There was a bit of traffic noise at times, but not as much, by a long way, to what we are used to at home so we didn't hear it. Thank you for a lovely holiday and we will be back again soon.
Great Little Site
We turned up here on a wim as we drove past and saw the CL sign so thought it couldn't hurt to just ask if they had room for the night which they did.
The lovely lady came out and greeted me at the farmhouse to show us where we could pitch up for the evening.
There was no room on the CL site but we were happily placed in the back field on pitch 18 which was perfect for us as we were close to a fresh water tap and close to the chemical toilet area so we could empty.
The pitch itself had ample space around us so we didn't feel like we were intruding on others and we had enough space for our dog to have a mooch.
The dog walk area was ample and did the job for a little exercise area for the pooch, I did notice somebody hadn't picked up after their dog though which is on the owner not the site.
The toilet and shower facilities were so clean, on a working farm I was ready for things to be a bit messy but I couldn't have been more wrong, everything was spotless and equipped with everything you could have needed.
Would highly recommended this site and we will definitely be back!
Practically perfect in every way
Where to start? Easy to find and with plenty of room to access the site on a family run dairy farm Large separate CL field, enormous. Always guaranteed a friendly welcome from the Hodgson family. HUGE pitches, oceans of room for unit, towing vehicle, BBQ etc. Washrooms spotless, even in the height of season. Very reasonable pricing, everything included and incredibly good value. Lots to do in the local area, always spoilt for choice.
Angela and Trevor - this site is a true credit to you and we can't wait to return.

Lovely campsite
We stayed here for four nights in August,we found access was good, the owners were friendly and approachable and kept the site clean and tidy. The site is on a busy road but it quietens down at night and the plus side of this of course is that it has good access to routes to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and more. Pitches are huge ,grass is kept mown short.
It's literally five minutes from the car park from which we started a walk around the Hole of Horcum ,well worth doing ..walk on to Levisham and Levisham station, beautiful area.
We will be back to explore more of this area !
Excellent Farm Site
This site is quite amazing
It is a working farm so has a varied selections of animals and farm machinery
The CAMC site is separate from other parts of the site and you can only describe the size of the pitches as massive
As for the toilet facilities well I have never seen anything quite like it, they are far superior to some hotels that I have stayed in.
Shower curtains are a black and white design like the markings that you would find on a cow, the toilet seats have a country design and feature a cows head on them. So much thought has gone into the toilet blocks. There is an amazing supply of air fresheners, paper towels, ordinary hand towels, pump action soap dispensers, steriliser fluid, mops buckets floor squeegees. A small fortune has been spent on accessories. The toilets are cleaned regularly and always in immaculate condition. There is also a freezer available for anyone needing to freeze ice packs.
The owners are a delight, very friendly, very well organised and helpful and will always stop for a chat.
A fish & chip van comes on site around 7pm on a Tuesday and offers good food at reasonable prices
Thursday night around 5pm there is a visit from a mobile pizza van and again good food and quite reasonably priced
This site is at the side of the main road between Pickering and Whitby and is quite busy at times which in turn can create a bit of traffic noise which may not be to some peoples liking but it didn't really bother us as we were out every day
Highly recommended and we can't wait to get back there
Difficult to find from Whitby direction
In early May '22 we followed sat nav directions in Club Site book to this site from Whitby. At the satnav destination there was a narrow entrance with a gate across it so couldn't drive in off the road & had to hold up the traffic on this busy road. It transpired that this was NOT the site entrance which we later found out was 1.5 miles further along the road. We were led to believe from the handbook that the site was a CL but it turned out to be a vast site with at least 40 pitches!
However where we parked was roomy but not quiet because of traffic from main road. One bonus was that the ice cream van visited in the afternoon.

Great farm site
We love this site but it might not suit everyone it is a farm with cows so it can smell sometimes and it’s just off the main road so can be noisy but is also very handy for visiting places the CL field is very spacious and the other 2 fields are equally as good if not better the facilities are very good and kept extremely clean also it’s on the Moore’s so some excellent walks nearby hope to be back next year

Cracking CL well worth visiting
Just back from 5 nights at Marfit Head Farm (Wed 9th - Mon 14th Sept 2020). What a cracking CL it is on a working dairy farm. Access into the site is easy via the wide entrance off the main road (take care going over the Cattle Grid). On arrival we were warmly met by Mrs Hodgson and given a detailed map and list of Covid-19 do's and don'ts.
The pitches are grass (slightly sloped) and of a very generous size with EHU. There are three fields to chose from, the smaller CL field which is adjacent to the main road; the Top Field and the Back Field. We chose the Back Field as the conifer tree's provided a barrier to the road noise - not a complaint, purely an observation as the road is a main 'A' road to/from Whitby and is busy during the day and early evening; the traffic is light at night and didn't cause us any lost sleep.
There is ready access to a number of water points and the Chem Waste point.
The back Field provides lovely views and it was nice watching the families herd of Cows winding their way to/from the Milking Parlour twice a day. There are a number of very tame Chickens who wander freely about the farm and camping fields (one especially is cheeky enough to invite herself into your van if you don't watch out for her).
There's easy access to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay & Scarborough from the site (NOTE: the site is incorrectly marked on the CAMC Website map - it's actually a mile or so prior to the currently shown location. I've emailed CAMC asking them to amend this). There are also plenty of walks close by (don't miss a walk down into the Hole of Horcum).
Overall a lovely CL in a beautiful part of the country. We will definitely be back in 2021.
Better in the back field!
We stayed here for 6 nights in the back field as the CL area was full. Glad we did as there was much more room and the road was a bit further away. Friendly people, good Covid precautions, easy access. Good base for the beautiful surrounding countryside and coast.
Road noise and rural smells were a bit of an issue but we still enjoyed our stay.
Perfectly adequate for overnight stay
We stayed two nights touring in our motorhome on this site. The CL field is close to the busy main road so for us this wouldn't be a first choice site. Having said that everything we needed and very friendly folk running it. Lots for children, animals and play area though not available at Covid time. We probably wouldn't stay again because of traffic noise we're not used to.
