A Little Gem

Everything about this site is 5*, Tony & Sharon could not be more helpful and if you like to catch fish this is a lake for you. Previous review do not exaggerate, if we visit this area again this is where we will stay. Brian & Angela

Fabulous Peaceful Site!

What a find! A fabulous CL only 5 miles from the coast in a flat peaceful haven surrounded by woodland and wildlife. There is also a picturesque small lake with an abundance of roach and high single figure carp. Tony and Sharon are superb hosts full of helpful information and the facilities are spotless. The Old Chequers pub is within walking distance and does meals and a cracking pint of locally brewed Batemans but the opening hours are short so check first. Loads of paths to walk and flat country lanes to cycle along. So a gem of a little site but please save one of the grass pitches near the lake for our next visit!

Eggcellent Easter getaway

Just got back from great weekend at Mayfields, Tony and Sharon very welcoming(Thank you both) and Benjamin the dog. The site so quiet and peaceful the surroundings beautiful and wildlife birds, deer great even saw Tawny Owl swoping in the meadow! The fishing lake is FAB and caught a good few Roach and carp on the 2 days we fished. Nice pub within walking distance and shops . we cycled around the country roads, lots of lovely scenery! Fishermans dream,

I arrived at Mayfield to be met by the lady of the house, she gave me choice of vacant pitches. I chose pitch number 2 as not too far away from all the facilities. Even better was the fishing pond/lake which was just yards away. I was blessed as the weather was gorgeous. The facilities were immaculately clean. The site is very secure as looked gate. The electric worked out very well for me approx. £2 per day, The site is surrounded by trees making it a very secluded spot. The site owners are very nice people & helpful. I highly recommend this site & it's owners. Ken

peaceful site

Just got back from a stay of over 2 weeks. Great CL site with great wildlife. Tony and his wife are very nice friendly people who cant do enough to help you. Good security locked gate at all times. Fishing is good if you cant catch a fish here sell your kit !!! Best run your van on gas to avoid big electric bill we did and ours worked out at about £3.50 per day. This makes it still a good price per night at about £13.50. Thanks both for a pleasant stay. Geoff and Melinda

Fantastic relaxing friendly site

Stayed on the site for 10 days this Sept 2019. Lovely welcome to the site by the owners. Our intention was to tour the area but the site was so peaceful & relaxing we hardly went anywhere except to the shops for supplies. My Partner & I spent most of day's fishing on the sites well-stocked lakes. the site was found to be very dog-friendly Our two small terriers loved the walks around the lakes. The atmosphere on the site was extremely friendly even among other site users. We would strongly recommend this site. The site fees are exceptionally low & facilities are well above par. The electric is metered but works out very reasonable. Depending upon ones frugal or not so frugal usage. All in all a five star site

Simply The Best.

We have stayed on some lovely CL's over the last 17 years, but we must say that Mayfield is about the best we've stayed on. Mayfield is everything we want in CL. Beautifully lawned, spacious pitches. Spotlessly clean shower and toilets. (2 wc's). 2 beautifully lawned fishing ponds stocked with Carp up to 6 lbs. ( there are bigger fish in the pond, but 6lbs was the biggest caught while I was there). The ponds are for the exclusive use of those staying on site. If you don't fish it is nice to just stroll round the ponds and meadow listening to the birds. TV reception is first class.. Skegness and all the major supermarkets are 10 mins away. £10 a night.rent. 20 pence for a good long shower and our meter showed £4..80p for a week's electricity, worked out at about £11 a night. Fantastic value. We had to come home today because of commitments. But we are going back a week on Monday for some fishing and chilling. Mayfield Fisheries will be our go to site for the Skegness coast area..
