Tranquil and Charming

Midlands CL is a lovely site, very peaceful and we had a wonderful three days at the beginning of our Pembrokeshire holiday. Mr and Mrs John were very welcoming and friendly offering local advice. The site which is a little off the beaten track is small and very quiet offering everything that you may or may not find on an equally larger site. There is a large dog walking area. It is suitably placed to visit many other parts of the region, and will definitely be on radar for another visit in the future.

Great CL !!!

What a Lovely CL the Midlands is if you fancy a few days in the area this is a great CL to visit with it's central location and plenty of things to do and see around the area if you get stuck ask the owners and they will point you in the right direction of what to do and see in the area . The pitches are all full service and hard standing and TV point,if you find fault with this CL you really need to go to a commercial site and pay twice as much for the same thing .Thanks Mr&Mrs John 10/10

Top Dollar

I read the comments of others before we visited this site and was left wondering just what some people expect of a site. We stayed there 4 nights and thought it was a very nice place to be. It started with a slow but safe entry and a top notch welcome from both Mr & Mrs John. they explained all the facilities to us and left us to pick any of the pitches we fancied. We were able to connect up to all but the waste drain as I did not have the pipe for this. No bother said Mr John and he the produced one and hooked it up for us. He then left us to carry on with his work along with Mrs John. As others have said the dog walk must be one of the best I have seen. We were also glad of the TV Ariel as we were not able to get a picture with our own. There was Wi Fi for those who wanted it and books and information on places to visit. We did not use the shower etc but saw that they were spotless. We did however partake of the free range eggs. We will definitely return to this site again and again. Gerald & Janice

Fantastic Site

We have just left this site having spent a wonderful few days there. As previously stated by other reviews, the access road to this site is very tight, however it's not too much of a problem if you take your time and drive very slowly. Mr and Mrs John are lovely hosts and even though we disturbed their lunch when we arrived, they were more than happy to welcome us and give us information on the locality. There are 5/6 pitches all of which are hardstanding and level. They are fully serviced with the added bonus of having a direct aerial feed, which gives an excellent reception. The toilet block is small with a separate ladies, gents and a disabled toilet and shower. The block is dated and without heating but the facilities are clean and functional. The grounds to this small site are very well kept with a dog walk through Mr and Mrs John's farm leading to a lovely meadow complete with running stream and pond - magical. I can't recommend this sight highly enough and the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars are because of the dated facilities but it would be hard to beat on location, the general standard of the site and the genuinely warm hosts. We will definitely be back. P.s. the owners have free range eggs for sale from their own chickens; great tasting and well worth it.

All explained and resolved.

Just to update everyone on my previous review I spoke with Mr John today to discuss our issues on site and was happy with the reply and outcome of the conversation. Mr John advised me that due to recent council cut backs the lane was only getting the grass and hedges trimmed once now instead of twice a year. And the reason why the site grass hadn't been cut was due to the days of heavy rain before we arrived and the ground was too wet to cut it. He has also refunded me for the charges of my 2 children for the whole 8 days which I am more than happy with. There were only the above few issues we weren't happy about and now in my eyes Mr John has put things right and I couldn't fault the site for anything else.

Nice site but not the best around

We made this booking last year as it was recommended by a work friend and paid our £30.00 deposit by cheque and received our booking confirmation, Access to this site is very tight and could have been made better if the grass and brambles were cut back along the whole length of the lane as they were over hanging by around 10 inches either side. When we arrived Mr John was out a farm sale so he had called me the night before to tell us what pitches to go on. The pitches are very spacious and all hardstanding with water, waste drain, hook up and TV Ariel which was a bonus as there's no TV reception in this area. All set up and we had a quick chat with Mr John who is a nice chap. just 10 minutes walk up the lane is the Jubilee Pub which served a good pint and not expensive either and a further 5 minutes walk there is the Award winning fish and chip shop. There's some lovely walks on the land owned by the site for dogs or if you just like walking. Toilets were ok but not the cleanest make sure you take you mosquito bat with you as there's quite a few lurk in the toilets and they're the size of a Jack Russell lol. The lady's shower wouldn't get hot and we had to ask for toilet paper in the toilets a few times. The grass on site wasn't cut short and you needed wellies to go to the toilets and showers as the ground was very wet. It states £14.50 per night on the CC website and when we had to pay we were informed that this had now gone up to £15.50 per night and then we were charged a further £2.50 per child which made our nightly stay £20.50 per night which we thought was too expensive for a CL site as you can stay on a Club site cheaper but what could we do as we had booked for 9 nights. I would give this site 10/10 for peace and quite but only 5/10 for value for money I'm afraid. I cannot knock the owner for being friendly but we thought that we had been neglected a little with the toilets not having paper in them and the long grass on site. The Pembrokeshire are is well run down and needs a boost in the area to attract more visitors and we were disappointed with Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Pembroke, the only place we found good to visit was Tenby.

4 Wonderful Days

Booked to go to Midlands as my wife and I had never really explored North Pembrokeshire. What a stoke of genius. OK the lane is tight, but the chance of meeting anything is very low, and the banks were all grass,no trees or bushes. Arrived on site to a very warm welcome, We were shown the facilities, and although looking old are very clean, and even have disabled facilities. The pitches are hard standing and fully serviced. even down to the TV areal. So its plug and play, and so quiet. Go on the dog walk even if you do not have a dog its a revelation. Buy some fresh eggs from Mr & Mrs Johns chickens and enjoy breakfast. Borrow a book from the information room,or even a DVD. Then get out and enjoy the whole of Pembs and what it has to offer, you will not be disappointed by Midlands or Pembrokeshire. We hope to return very soon

Lovely spot

Used this CL as an overnight stop whilst touring Pembrokehire. We were very impressed with the neatness of the site and the facilities. As others have said, the dog walk is a particularly lovely feature. Access was not a problem in our 6.5m campervan. Highly recommended

A cracking site.

Well the drive down the lane on final approach is TIGHT be warned..this is the real downside though and we knew about that before booking. The site has fully serviced pitches. The toilets/showers are a little dated however they are more than acceptable. The grounds are kept in fine condition and the 'dog' walk (though even without a dog its a nice little walk) is great even more so with young children as it goes off through the fields past a pond and lawned area to the chicken coup and who doesn't like a chicken coup? You really do have to drive everywhere from here though the pubs are within stumbling distance and the gargage on the main road for 'beer' supplies is only a 5 min drive or passed on the way to/from haverfordwest. There are some great beaches within easy driving distance all of which allow dogs in some way, shape or form. The owner is really friendly and very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one.

LITTLE GEM

I used this for a night stop as i was going out of Fishguard the next day. i have a 7mt motorhome and found it tight to navigate the single track road, glade i was not towing a caravan, however there was very large units parked in there, so it is possible. my warning to you if you arrive in the dark is take care and drive slow as if you miss the entrance you are in a dead end road with no way of turning around so i hope you are good at reversing, the site is about half a mile on the left,,the sat nave wants you to go further on down the road so take care, look for the big barns on the lft as its next to them so site is well laid out with tv,,water and grey waste on your slot, the toilets were for a CL well above standard,  would i use this again..yes, and i am a very hard person to please
