Nice site but not the best around

We made this booking last year as it was recommended by a work friend and paid our £30.00 deposit by cheque and received our booking confirmation, Access to this site is very tight and could have been made better if the grass and brambles were cut back along the whole length of the lane as they were over hanging by around 10 inches either side. When we arrived Mr John was out a farm sale so he had called me the night before to tell us what pitches to go on. The pitches are very spacious and all hardstanding with water, waste drain, hook up and TV Ariel which was a bonus as there's no TV reception in this area. All set up and we had a quick chat with Mr John who is a nice chap. just 10 minutes walk up the lane is the Jubilee Pub which served a good pint and not expensive either and a further 5 minutes walk there is the Award winning fish and chip shop. There's some lovely walks on the land owned by the site for dogs or if you just like walking. Toilets were ok but not the cleanest make sure you take you mosquito bat with you as there's quite a few lurk in the toilets and they're the size of a Jack Russell lol. The lady's shower wouldn't get hot and we had to ask for toilet paper in the toilets a few times. The grass on site wasn't cut short and you needed wellies to go to the toilets and showers as the ground was very wet. It states £14.50 per night on the CC website and when we had to pay we were informed that this had now gone up to £15.50 per night and then we were charged a further £2.50 per child which made our nightly stay £20.50 per night which we thought was too expensive for a CL site as you can stay on a Club site cheaper but what could we do as we had booked for 9 nights. I would give this site 10/10 for peace and quite but only 5/10 for value for money I'm afraid. I cannot knock the owner for being friendly but we thought that we had been neglected a little with the toilets not having paper in them and the long grass on site. The Pembrokeshire are is well run down and needs a boost in the area to attract more visitors and we were disappointed with Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Pembroke, the only place we found good to visit was Tenby.
