Fantastic little cl

brillianht little cl Colin and Anne make you feel very welcome they were very very helpful and were allways up for a laugh and a giggle They keep the site very neat and tidy and you have got everything you need. Colin came up to the van the night before we left and said don't worry about the rain If you have a problem in the morning I will tow you out with the tractor. What more could you ask. The area outside the site entrance is a bit like rural France . the farm buildings are a bit dillapitaded but full of character . Dont read this the wrong way the cl is great the owners are great and the local area is very pretty. We will definately go back Dudley and Pat caravaners from Wimborne

We'd go back!

We didn't know what to expect having read previous reviews but we were well impressed by the site and its owners who were very helpful and informative. Access is fine and the lane is relatively easy to negotiate getting there, you will need to allow for a good swing though but it is nothing too difficult.  We have a healthy dog and there was a field next door to which we had free access.   The site itself was well tended, the grass was like a lawn and the facilities, although basic, were absolutely fine and clean. They even laid on wall to wall sun for the week!

Ups and downs with this site

Not a bad CL, but we were there in wet weather and were expected to leave our car at the entrance. The site is on quite a steep uphill to the entrance and exit is worrying if it is wet. However, the owners have a tractor standing by to pull you out if necessary. The site is excellently positioned for access to Dorset, either East or West, and Bridport is lovely. On the "down" side, the site is rather run down, with a dilapidated wooden building in the middle. The disposal point is not up to standard. It is obvious that the owners are not caravanners. I, personally dislike having to pay a booking deposit and then pay in full on arrival. This style of charging may be the norm in the West Country, but we have not met it in other parts of the country.

Nice One

Entry into this CL is a little tight. Lovely welcome  and everything explained nicely and then we were left alone to enjoy it. A nice keep site if a little uneven, but bricks were supplied to help level up the caravan. Try West Bay a real nice harbour and sea front with a lot of local shops and cafeterias. The surrounding area is very pleasant and nice views to be had, which includes those at the CL.

A delightful, well kept CL with very friendly owners.

We stayed here for the second week of September - weather was fair but damp at times. When heavy rain was forecast one day we were asked to park cars on hardstanding by the entrance - no problem and it stopped the grass getting cut up. The grounds are well kept - good grass, lovely flowers. The owners - Ann and Colin are very welcoming and friendly and Ann is especially helpful with recommendations for local pubs to visit. An easy drive into Bridport which has a big Morrisons and a (nearer) Co-Op supermarket. Good shops in town. Internet access available in the local library, 30 minutes free of charge. As reported elsewhere the access road is narrow in places but there are plenty of passing places. The entrance to the CL is fine with a wide swing. No problem with our 7.6m van. Weymouth and Lyme Regis are both a short drive away, but on another occasion I would consider parking in Bridport and using the bus service. This CL is on our list for a re-visit.

Well Kept CL

As someone has mentioned the entrance can be a little tight. But we got in OK single axle 7.2 M van there are some large twin axle van on site currently. The owner is very nice and helpful and gave us some advise of places to visit and local events. The site is sloping but there are a pile of bricks onsite to help level but again, no issues levelling the van. Toilet is showing its age a little but is perfectly serviceable. The room also has a selection of leaflets of places to visit. Grass is well kept and the caravan area has a brick road leading into the and hard area for parking cars if the field gets really wet. Apparently there is a tractor that can be called on if you have issues. When we are back in the area this CL is on our list of ones to stay at again.

Peace & tranquility

On arrival at the site you have to take a right hand turn into the entrance to the site which could e tight with a long van. We have a unicorn Valencia and it was tight to get through so make sure you take a wide berth. This is a quiet site with nice views across the fields. The site is not level and you will need levelling blocks. The site is around 3 miles to Bridport, the nearest town so you will need to drive to get to the holiday spots. Some good pubs nearby serving good food and.real ale. Would certainly return to this site when in the area again.

Heaven!

I've been coming to Mill House 5cl site for over 20 years. The owners, Colin and Ann Moore, could not be nicer. Friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them and they will make you feel at home very quickly. The site is tucked away in the little hamlet of Mangerton about 3 miles from Bridport. A lovely English Market Town. There is but one road into the site that is navigable. Use the directions given in the CC Handbook. Sat Navs will lead you astray. This is a place where you will find yourself properly in the country. There is always the sight and sound of sheep, cows, chickens and water birds. Close by (200m) is a small and delightful water/nature park; across the road a small working farm. The site has pretty views of the local terrain. It is hilly and rather like a mini lake district. The site is usually quiet and relaxed and over the time I have been visiting there has always been a reserved, yet friendly atmosphere among the campers. The site is readily accessible with care & skill required at the entrance. This is well within the remit of all experienced caravan drivers. The site has a delightful slope which lends to the rural nature of the place. If you want to park in rows, with sanitised facilities, this is not somewhere to come. If, however, you delight in peace and quiet, beautiful views, a rural backdrop and modern facilities to do all sorts very close by, this is very definitely the place for you. My partner and I simply love it! cjf169

Good location

We have visited this friendly and welcoming CL site for several years as it is in a good location for the Jurassic coast. It is a quiet, tranquil , rural site located in the beautiful Dorset rolling hills, a very short drive from the coast and the town of Bridport. There are also several country pubs offering good food within a few minutes drive. Great location for beautiful countryside and stunning coastline!
