Peaceful site with lovely shower/toilets

Showers/toilets are self-contained, en-suite style, beautiful and clean. As the site is small, you will be close to them. Fairly level pitches, though you might use blocks if you have them. Good location for local walks and cycling. We cycled on back roads to Castle Douglas and to Threave. Close to the A75 but far enough away to not notice at night. We appreciated Linda's review about the entrance! (18/07/23).

Lovely little CL

Stopped for 3 nights en route to Isle of Arran, Mull of Kintyre and the Trossachs. Very nicely kept site. Level pitches. Lovely toilets/showers. Pleasant views over a little pond to farmland beyond. Very quiet indeed. Just the sound of birdsong. Nice dog walks from site. Good base for touring Dumfries and Galloway. Castle Douglas has all you need by way of shops with good butchers bakers etc. We enjoyed a drive along the Raiders Road through Galloway Forest with a picnic at Otters Pool. Also had a nice day trip to Port Patrick. Would return. Word of warning the CAMC sign at the (very imposing) entrance from the layby is so faded you can hardly see it. Just trust your instincts that you are in the right place and ignore the apparent no entry sign and drive over cattle grid and up the drive and you will find it!

Good CL

We stayed here in early April. The site was easy to find and access good, though there is a fair bit of private single track driveway to negotiate, but it was not a problem. The little loch is home to swans and ducks who kept us entertained. There is a faint noise from the main road, but little traffic overnight. We were on the first site, pitches are nice and flat, with easy access to the 2 individual shower rooms, water was in the same place and waste water and toilet emptying close by on the other side of the farm road. This road is quite busy, but the big hedge shielded the pitches. Good shopping and plenty to see in Castle Douglas, and lots of other places around to visit. We have been in the area before, so this time only went down to the coast a couple of times. The site fee at the time of our visit was £25, which is a bit more than we are used to paying, but if you prefer, or need, showers etc on site, then it is good value. We mainly use our own on board facilities and preferably look for a CL with serviced hard standings, but could not find anything suitable in the area. Since facilities were available I did use them and they were very good.

Very Good Site

After tripping around some very busy parts of england it was so good to get to Mollance Farm for some peace and quiet,we had eight nights there and no complaints it was pretty busy, but the toilet and shower worked well and were clean as usual, Love this CL and recomend it too. No one will have cause to complain about being here, but theres always one that will but theres plenty of room for a moaning minnie

Little gem of a site

Arrived to a warm welcome on Friday night from owner and if you need anything nothing is a problem. The site is on a working farm but you hardly know and the kids have plenty of space to roam and explore. The toilets/shower blocks are always spotless. There is a beautiful little lake and its easy to reach Dumfries or Castle Douglas as its just off the A75 so very well located. Will definitely be back.

Nice site

I spent 6 days on this site earlier this month, and I'm happy to recommend it However, being sited in the 2nd site, I was a bit susprised at the speed of the vehicles passing the site, which unlike the 1st site which has a large hedge shielding it, is open to the road. Also, enjoyed the offered fish & chips on Friday evening, the pudding was good, the mushy peas were good, the fish was good, but oh my, the chips were pale and hard, I would think they were undercooked! So.........not a bad site.

Living up to expectations

We stayed here in May 2021 for two nights. Magnificent site just off the A75 but you are not aware of traffic noise. Everything was as previously reported, warm welcome from Sheena, offer of fish and chips for Friday dinner, the best, cleanest and warmest wc/showers you will find.

RELAXING LONG WEEKEND

The Mollance Farm CL is local to us and has been a great escape during the current restrictions. You will receive a great welcome from Shenna & Derek who run an excellent CL, whether for a holiday, weekend or a stopover. Beautiful Toilet Block which is maintained to a high standard. At the moment Sheena is offering professionally catered for meals delivered to your outfit. We had Fish & Chips on Friday night and a High Tea on the Saturday night. Excellent and reasonably priced as you will see from previous reviews. We will be visiting again soon.

Best C.L.we have stayed on and will continue to use it,as we have for years now

Derek and Sheena have created a wonderful oasis away from a busy world, yet its only half a mile from the A75 and a couple of miles from the market town of Castle Douglas which is a food paradise, yet this CL will lead you off into beautiful countryside roads without going near any busy places in a radius of 15 miles around the CL.Derek maintains the site to high standards which is no mean feat as there is a lot of grass and roads to maintain as well as the toilet block, well done to him.On the CL there is always something to catch your eyes, red kites, young pregnant cows, and bullocks.there is a pond on the edge of the pitches which at the moment is home to a pair of swans,a heron ,couts and ducks,so if you dont go out you wont be bored. If you love homemade farmhouse food Sheena is an amazing host, she delivers the meals direct to your caravan with help from Meghan, friday night its haddock, chips and mushy peas sunday night its a high tea to die for, midweek it could be balmoral chicken or curry and each of these meals come with a sweet course if you want it .the toilet block is minted fully heated, loads of hot water in the showers what more do you need. weve just had our second fortnight there in the last two months and will be back soon.its too good to miss.as for their dogs theyre comical and dont bite, just friendly,we would highly recommend this for one or two nights or a week or two.
