Wasn’t expecting this…

Just spent 10 days at this site covering two weekends. Arrived on the Friday and all well and good. At 5.45am on the 1st Saturday morning we were woken by car engines, voices and laughter. This went on for around 30 mins or so before falling silent again. Later on that day two pick up type vehicles pulled up and occupants got out all dressed in hunting attire. They proceeded to take 2 deer out of one the vehicles and laid them on the floor of the carpark for everyone to see. One of them then proceeded to cut the head from one of the animals, again right in front of anyone who was about. We couldn’t watch and turned away. Now this is not an adults only site and we could quite easily of had our grandchildren with us who would have been absolutely horrified to have seen such an event. The following weekend got even worse. This time we were woken at 5.15am again with engines running, loud voices and laughter, with even a couple of toots on the car horn. No consideration for anyone staying or living on site..very selfish people. They brought 5 deer back from their trip out and laid them out 20m or so from our windscreen. They were all congratulating and hugging each other on their days work. More heads were cut off from the animals and they even skinned one of the unfortunate victims on site too. Disgusting and barbaric to have to witness this..there were others staying on site in holiday lets, but not sure if anyone else were as unfortunate us to have witnessed it like we did. There was another motorhome staying for the second weekend, but luckily for them they went out for day and missed those horrible practices, but were disturbed by their morning antics which they wasn’t very happy about at all. I did let the farmer/owner know what we had seen but, it didn’t seem like an urgency to him to do anything about it? Hasten to add, we will never return to this site ever. I have had to write this review just to warn other, unsuspecting people thinking of staying here during the hunting season, you may want to think again.

Peaceful CL

Just had 4 nights at Mollets Farm. A nicely situated CL with basic but very adequate facilities. Access is easy but the A12 is a very busy road. The CL is well away from the road so noise is not a problem. We didn’t see the owner but telephone contact was very pleasant and helpful. The payment system and information supplied on line was excellent and wifi was very good.

Nice Site and nice area

We have just returned from a long weekend at Mollett’s Farm and enjoyed the experience as much as we have done on previous visits over recent years. The site itself is nicely self contained, surrounded by hedges, but with good views of the adjacent countryside. It is close to Aldeburgh and there is a superb farm shop and cafe within walking distance of the site. This is indeed a lovely area of Suffolk and there is always something new to see or visit. Lots of different breeds of chickens to look at on the site as well! Great place!

Good site.

Easy access for caravans, but well away from main road. Well kept site and helpful, friendly owners.

We Will Definately Return

We can’t believe we haven’t stayed at this site before now, how have we missed it ? It is everything we like about a CL site, along a long driveway off the A12, set back in it’s own spacious space with walks from site, we chose the well worn paths straight from site that really were quite easy to navigate on foot and kind of obvious to walk on those routes rather than the ploughed fields (we left those for the tractors). We knew there were no showers or toilets on site because it clearly states so in the information at the time of looking to book but that’s ok, we use our facilities on board anyway and especially more so since the pandemic, we just feel it’s safer. The toilet emptying was straight down a pipe (perfect) though we did worry about maybe a hedgehog accidentally meeting it’s fate down same hole, so maybe a little bit of mesh over the top might be an idea ? Two big wheelie bins emptied by the refuse collectors (perfect - no unsightly rubbish heaping up). The fresh water tap well away from the toilet emptying (perfect - not always this set up on CLs’ we stay at). The owner was friendly, polite and helpful at the time of booking as if nothing was too much trouble (perfect - as there really are some grumpy CL owners who answer the phone but not so here). We were told to just turn up, find our space and that they’d find us. Well, we like it that way, in fact we feel that so long as the owners leave clear information on site as to site rules with a phone number incase we needed to contact them then that’s ok. At Molletts the owners have done just that and so really, it wouldn’t matter if you never did see them because everything you need to know is on the board. However, during our stay the owners did come on site to greet guests several times with information about the site etc. We missed them (late risers) so called at the farm house with our payment and again, very pleasant. We didn’t see the owner’S wife but that wasn’t the end of the world, perhaps she’s wasn’t there or maybe we missed her at the times she came on site. So overall we really did enjoy our stay at Molletts and will be back. :-)

We won't return

Plus points Molletts Farm is easy to find. The field is adequate. The surrounding area has lots of places of interest. The man who owns this CL seemed a pleasant chap. Negative points No one welcomed us in. We only saw the man when he came to collect extra money for the showers* The lady owner of this CL is unfriendly and very business minded. The 'dog walks' from the site are across 'ploughed' fields so extremely uneven. I don't think that there is a bus stop near. There aren't any toilets or showers (my elderly parents were renting one of the holiday lets. I phoned to ask if we could use their shower and we were charged £5 EACH per day. So £50 on top of our pitch fee for 5 nights. which already included water and electricity and my parents hire fee of over £500. Whilst happy to pay something more we were alittle taken aback to be charged this much). Sadly, we won't return. This is because of the lady's attitude which quite frankly made us feel uncomfortable. The holiday lets are quite definitely her priority.

We’ll definitely be back!

Have just returned from a lovely stay at Molletts Farm and will definitely return next summer. Site very easy to find and so handy for both coastal and inland towns. There are so many to visit. Site is just right for five vans, some pitches in shade, others in sun. Level ground with grass regularly mown, but other areas and verges full of beautiful wild flowers. Several footpaths adjacent to site. Well sheltered and really peaceful. Very welcoming hosts. Thank you.

Lovely peaceful site, wonderful family owners

We stayed here for 3 nights over half term (just before second lockdown). Plenty of space in the field for the number of pitches, and we had the place to ourselves on our last night. Due to a sudden downpour just prior to arrival the site was a little muddy in the middle, but Richard was on hand immediately if we needed help and made sure we were all OK when we came to leave as well. Sasha came over to greet us after we had got settled. What a lovely welcome. Facilities were very convenient, kept in very good order, and the WiFi and local info provided were the best we've had for a while. We're so pleased we booked this site and will certainly be back once restrictions allow, and would recommend to others. I also managed to get a couple of cross country runs in around the local fields, and a round-trip run to Snape is only 10km. Getting to the site was child's play, straight off the A12 and access through the site to the field had plenty of room. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Two weeks in glorious Suffolk.

We booked a two-week break with our friends which proved an excellent CL choice. We were welcomed by Richard who kindly pointed out the entrance to the CL where we met our friends who had arrived a couple of minutes before us. Access both from the A12 and onto the CL was excellent and clearly marked. There are 16-amp electric points around the CL which is level and the grass is kept short - it was mown on at least two occasions whilst we were there. There is free WiFi and this, and TV reception, are both excellent. For nature lovers we saw squirrels, grouse, numerous birds and daily visits from ‘the gang of 6’ – the ducks that stroll around the CL every day! We also saw muntjac deer whilst we were cycling along the nearby country lanes. As mentioned, access is directly from the A12, down a drive (with passing places) with minimal road noise from the A12, certainly not in anyway intrusive. Accommodation is available for those who do not have caravans or wish a break from towing. There is also a caravan dealership with a good accessory shop 10 minutes’ walk from site. We chose this CL due to its close proximity to various Suffolk attractions including Southwold, Aldeburgh, Snake Maltings, Rendelsham Forest etc. It is unsurprising that it is a very popular CL - those we met having been there on numerous occasions – booking is therefore recommended. We will certainly be returning when, hopefully, the current pandemic situation will have improved.

Fantastic site, lovely surroundings and wonderful hosts!

We stayed for 4 nights in August and had the most beautiful break with our 2 children. The site is gorgeous with additional accommodation in a beautiful barn conversion (we may bring family next time). We stayed in the cl, very neat, enclosed and wonderfully arranged, meaning a well spaced out break with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. We were welcomed by Mrs Ayers, who gave us lots of information and tips for our stay, we know the surrounding areas well and it was well situated for Framlingham, Orford, Snape and Aldebugh (our favourite towns). You are able to use a path dedicated to the site only to walk across fields to a lovely farm shop and diner (Friday Street), this was good for a cooked breakfast after a lovely walk. Our children were given the run of the paddock behind the CL and had an incredible time exploring with 2 other children away from the caravans. We were also able to use the washing machine in the barn area. It was everything we wanted in a cl and more... thank you so much!
