Monks Farm, Sneaton, Whitby, February visit.

This is a lovely peaceful site with great views of Whitby Abbey and the harbour lighthouse in the distance. It has 6 H/S pitches with EHU, and adjacent is a flagged footpath, Monks Trod, which is ideal for taking ones dog and in fact can be used to walk all the way down to Whitby itself, or to join the cinder track, the old railway line which extends as far as Ravenscar and then onto Scarborough and is ideal for cycling as well as walking. The site is easily access being less than 1/2 ml off the B1416 in the village of Sneaton itself, although the drive from Runswick, to the north does involve two very steep hills, including Oakley Bank. Care is required at the entrance to the site if one has a long unit. There is a little pub 50yds to the left of the farm entrance as well as a tearoom at Beacon Farm. The site is ideal for visiting lots of interesting places in the area, such as Robin Hood's Bay, Snaithes and Runswick Bay, as well as Whitby, and the NY Moors Railway can be accessed about 4 mls away at Grosmont. This is a site that we will definitely use again in the future.
