Sadly we won’t return

This review unfortunately has two points The site is beautiful to say the least,,nothing short of perfect for people looking for a quiet break,,,a helpful friendly guy who runs the site who seems to be on hand if needed. Gorgeous views ...but what we loved about it was the lovely dog walk up the fells a minute away from the site. Now sadly to the second point,,,if you have a dog BE CAREFUL!!!!because on our return from our walk , to our horror, the farm dog attacked our little dog who was on a lead and quite happily minding her own business. I had to scoop her up in my arms but the farm dog leapt up and bit her and wouldn’t let go dangling off her rear end. This incident traumatised my dog, myself and my husband. There was no apology from the owner ..but a heartfelt apology from the lovely guy who runs the place but unfortunately the whole experience had ruined our trip and we won’t be returning. Such a shame too as I loved this site. I was in two minds as to whether I should leave this review...hopefully this was an isolated incident and will NEVER happen again.

I hadn't read this review prior to visiting this site but, even if I had, I'd probably have assumed that the problem with the Farm Dog, as described, would have been addressed a long time ago.

Regrettably, this appears not to be the case as our dog - a small border terrier - was attacked in an almost identical manner to that described.  We'd only gone a few yards beyond the gate to the campsite, with our dog on a short lead, on the road to the public right of way -  when one of two Farm Collies which was with their owner launched an unprovoked attack on our dog  and, for several minutes, refused to let go despite all attempts to separate it from our 14 year old non aggressive little dog!

It was a VERY distressing incident and, though our dog appears not to have been injured, very traumatic for all concerned.

My concern is compounded by the fact that the problem with this dog was reported almost 12 months ago and appears to have gone completely unaddressed by both the site owner AND The Caravan and Motorhome Club

We shall not be revisiting this site and, further more, question the value of our membership of Caravan and Motorhome Club - who have demonstrated a total inability to take effective action in respect of a seriously distressing, and long standing, problem.
