Perfect location to see Cornwall

We have just had 3 weeks at Mount Pleasant CL. This is a perfect site for nearby Perranporth and Newquay plus many other small coves. It is also a good base for both North and South Cornwall coasts as well as Truro, only a few miles away. The site is all grass which is kept cut short, so dries quickly when it has rained. Each pitch has its own water supply (splitters on the tap), 16 amp EHU (Stuart has fitted some mini meters which give a digital reading of your power usage - he allowed 10 units per day and you would need to pay if you went over that limit - a very fair system given the recent increases). Each pitch also has a large waste bin which is lined with a black sack - there is also plastic sacks attached to the bin for recycling paper, tins etc (please wash them first). There is free wifi which is good to pick up your emails, but not a strong signal so please don't try and stream films!! Stuart greeted us on arrival and was always around for any advice and help. He gave us a tourist info pack with some useful maps and leaflets of attractions in the area. The site is easy to find when you leave the A30 at the Chiverton Roundabout, but as is typical in Cornwall, some of the roads nearer the site are narrow, but we have a twin axle caravan and managed the route without any problem.

Better than a campsite

We booked this CL to visit family in the area for 5 nights, we arrived on 31st September and was met by the owner, who fully explained everything we needed to know and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The pitch was grass, which was a good solid grass and cut to a lovely level, our pitch was by the entrance, the pitch size was good as we have a large twin axle caravan, plenty of room to site the van, the pitch slightly sloping downhill but nothing to worry about in regards levelling. On our pitch was water, electric, bins and we had free WiFi - very good for the price. Toilet emptying facilities on site green liquid to be used, bins have both recycling and normal waste. The drive off the main A30 was ok, it’s a short drive so not giving any problems but if you have a large caravan or motorhome drive with a little caution as you could meet a large farm vehicle on route. The site is perfect for families and dogs, great views and at night the sky’s are beautiful- no light pollution Overall a fairly peaceful site, there is local farm traffic passing outside the site but nothing to really worry about Close to main A30 so exploring is really easy and drivable, at the time of our stay, both large caravans and large motorhome we’re staying. If you have a motorhome you will have to use it as I did not see any bus stops close to the CL but taxis are readily available Overall a very nice pleasant CL to stay at, we will come again as a great place to stay and pricing is the best you will find £14 per night !!

Excellent site

We have stayed here for 15 nights. The owner was friendly and helpful . Water to each pitch. Good draining field for all year caravanning. 16 amp electric and very good Wi Fi. Convenient for North and South Coast. A very good fish and chip shop in Porthtowan a short distance from site. We will return when in area. Thank you

Second visit.

We previously visited this fine CL 3 yrs ago and it is even better than it was then. There are now splitters on the numerous water taps so that those with the right equipment can connect up to them and not have the need to refill their aquarolls. The allocated pitches are spacious, and at the moment, due to Covid precautions, each has it's own waste bin and additional bags for recyclable waste. This is a very quiet site and is huge so there is plenty of room to pitch sideways rather than with the rear of one's unit to the sheltering hedge should one wish. Redruth is the nearest town, about 5 mls away, and has the usual supermarkets. The site is well located for the local beaches and other attractions such as the mines at Wheal Coates at St Agnes Head, Wheal Peevor and East Pool mine (NT) in Camborne. There are lots of places where one can access the SW Coastal Path and also Tiedy Country Park. With good free WiFi, TV and phone reception the site is a bargain at £14 pn. (£15 for 2022) and we shall certainly return here.

Amazing Site

We visited Mount Pleasant for the first time in June for 14 nights. Easy access from the A30 and Sat Nav took us to the location without any problem. The country roads were suitable for our 7.4m caravan. Good access and signage to site. On arrival our pitch was allocated with a name sign and Stuart immediately greeted us with an information pack. His helpfulness continued throughout our stay even to the point of using his tractor to retrieve a dog toy up a tree! The site was really well maintained and grass impeccably kept throughout our stay. Very tranquil surroundings with lovely field views and the added benefit of being woken each morning to bird song. Well located to access beaches and attractions. We truly loved our holiday and will definitely be returning in the very near future. Thank you Stuart and Denise for the wonderful site that you have managed to create. Mike, Jackie & Ralph (our dog!)

Excellent Position for access to many areas of Cornwall

We visited Mount Pleasant for 16 nights in early July. Easy access from the main A30. Sat Nav took us to location without any problems. On arrival we were immediately greeted by Stuart who explained where the various facilities were located on the site. He also provided us with a pack containing leaflets and information on the area. Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for Stuart who readily provided us with tools to repair a defective chair and also fixed the WiFi connection when we lost the signal on one occasion due to weather problems. Throughout our stay the WiFi was superb, tv signal excellent and good mobile phone signal. Site is adjacent to a fairly busy minor road but did not cause us any problem at all. Water and recycling facilities easily accessible and chemical disposal point very clean and easy to use. The grass was regularly mowed and was well maintained. Thank you Stuart for a very enjoyable stay and we will be returning next year. Mick and Margaret Mann

Great Find

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at this brilliant CL. We arrived to find a large field with EHUs and drinking water taps along the top side. Pitches are well spaced apart marked with cones and an A board with your name on. Hopper type CDP on far side of field well away from pitches. The grass is mown regularly and kept nice and short. Soon after arrival the very friendly owner came to provide us with a Cornwall information pack and code for Wi-fi which worked seemlessly. The site is approximately 15 minuets from St Agnes Beacon and NT car park on coast path. Many areas of Cornwall are within easy reach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.

Great CL

Just returned from seven night stay at Mount Pleasant. Owner greeted us on arrival and advised us of where everything was. Hook ups against roadside, but only a small lane, did hear a few passing cars in morning and evening but nothing to annoy you, this did enable us to have the view of the hills in front of us. WiFi good, TV reception good, didn't need any booster. Plenty of space to excercise our dog. Good access to all major roads for getting around. Site kept neat and grass short. Would certainly return here if visiting this area again. PS Excellent Cornish pasties from Etheringtons farm shop at Wheal Rose, a short drive away.
