Very relaxing

Really fantastic site beautiful kept, nice short grass, very well set up.Easy to find, lovely scenery, many places to visit. Will definitely be going back to do some cycling. A great place for relaxing. The owners Paul and Haley are in the background should you need them otherwise they leave you to unwind and enjoy your holiday

Pretty much perfect!

Peaceful site amid a stunning landscape, delightful owners, wonderful walking and exploring to be done locally. Each pitch has its own tap, there is a good phone signal and even the wifi works well. The only downside we found was a number of unmarked and blocked footpaths.in the area - not the owners' fault of course, but made some of our walks a little challenging. Having said that, we definitely plan to go back.

Booked a week, stayed ten days!

We were here in this stunning CL in January, so utilised the hard-standing drive area just inside the main gate, as the actual field was a little wet. Hayley and Paul were wonderful hosts, not intrusive at all but Hayley recommended exactly where we should go, locally. The scenery is beautiful on both sides with extensive views, and some spectacular sunsets and starry skies. Unfortunately one morning the taps in the field were all frozen. The only slight downside was the narrow lane as has been mentioned before, so I have deducted a star for that, otherwise this site is as good as it gets.

Wonderful welcome - wonderful views - super pitches in quiet location

We came to Mountain View on leaving a site early because of noise from building works. We had a great welcome with the little dog rushing out to have his ball thrown. Settled in our super pitch - all grass which we actually like the best. Long reaching views over hills and a huge field for exercising dogs. We laughed as ours are two tiny little things. Its central here for so many places. We cycled/mobility scootered along the Montgomery Canal towpath, which is a haven for wildlife. We also did Trevor to Llangollen, and went over to the coast to ride the Mawddach Trail. This is a spectacular 9 mile route alongside the estuary and finishes with a very bumpy crossing on the famous wooden railway bridge. A day boat on the Llangollen Canal from Ellesmere was a highlight. Then we drove over Long Mynd and into the very pretty valley just outside Church Stratton. Altogether a busy week. Each day ending with a peaceful sit in the sun with a cup of tea and glass of wine. We were all alone in the field, and couldn’t imagine why this gem of a site is not fully booked all the time. Maybe people are put off by the mile approach from the main road, but that shouldn’t stop you from coming here. There is hardly any traffic and there are passing places. The locals understand totally that caravans do not go very well backwards ! We didn’t meet any, but were assured had we done so they would happily back up to the next passing place for us. Lastly our hostess told us where to get the best pies, the best coffee, the best fish and chips and good pubs to eat in. We don’t actually eat out but we took advantage of the offer to pop up and pick a few runner beans and courgettes for supper. If you want a quiet place, friendly hosts who are there but low profile, lots to do close by then Mountain View will suit you very well.

Beautiful Relaxing Site

We stayed here for 2 nights on the wat to West Wales and found it to be a lovely quiet site with views over the surrounding hills and countryside. It was easily accessible and had the added bonus of mains water, electric and waste facilities to each pitch. The enclosed dog walking field was large and easily accessible, all in all a perfect CL site.

Lovely 3 day stay

Hayley was able to accommodate a short notice stay for 3 nights for which I was grateful. I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon so the traffic was not too busy. The lane up to the site was fairly narrow but had plenty of passing places. The entrance was easily accessible and the pitches were relatively level on well mown grass. There was a well-kept enclosed recycling & Elsan now point at one corner of the field. During my stay I managed to visit lake Vrynwy, Bala lake and Llangollen in one day. I also travelled by train to Barmouth and visited NT Powis Castle, so there was plenty of places to see. The beautiful scenery from the caravan site and the lovely weather made my stay all the more enjoyable. A CL site I will certainly visit again.

Excellent CL, exactly what we needed.

We were looking for a CL that was quiet, had good views and good facilities, Mountain View met all of these requirements. The pitches are all grass, fairly level and well spaced, each pitch also has mains water and drainage, wifi is also included in the nightly rate. The owners are friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our stay of 7 nights and would happily return.

Pure Peaceful Bliss!!

We have just returned from a 14 night stay. My perfect site all pitches linear with generous spacing between each, with nothing to interrupt the view towards the Long Mynd on the horizon. Hayley and Paul the owners were very welcoming, Hayley would come to check all was okay with us plus we had some lovely chats and gave us lots of information on the area. Pitches are fully serviced with excellent Wi-fi connection, mobile and TV signal good. The EDP/bin area is very user friendly fenced in at the far end of the site. The entrance to the site is good through a wide recessed gate with hard surface leading off a lane which just goes to the farm beyond, hence no traffic. You will find a large Tesco with filling station also an Aldi in Welshpool. Thank you Hayley and Paul for making us so welcome we will return with out a doubt. Delia and Graham

So Relaxing!!

Looking for a local site, as elderly parents not too well and our normal bolt hole club site shut this year due to covid. What a brilliant find!! Peaceful, views. great field for our dog, and service pitch as well ! Warm welcome on arrival and chat, then left to ourselves. Lovely views, Rodneys Pillar if you want a vigorous walk, the canal at Welshpool for something more of a stroll. Will be back for more of the same soon.

Exceptional CL

Where do we start...? We’d booked Mountain View as our first break after lockdown, in the pursuit of walking, sightseeing and relaxing. This CL is perfectly located, easily accessible and in close proximity to some of the Areas local monuments and walks. Open views surround the site, located on a working farm with five fully serviced pitches. Hayley is the warmest of hosts, making time to come and chat with members, offering a number of recommendations for shopping, food and days out. Paul is equally as friendly, as is their little dog. If you are staying here based upon the dog walking facilities, you’ll not be disappointed. A full acre of secure paddock lets your fur babies run around to their hearts content. Welshpool is just 8 miles away and has the best independent artisan bakery we’ve ever come across; The Little Welsh Bakery. So much so, we’re taking a freezer full of homity pies home with us! The chemical/elsan point is tucked away but easily accessible from all five pitches. There are no facilities here, but that in no way detracts from the experience that we wanted and that which we got. We'll definitely be back. Mountain View really is a hidden gem with terrific hosts.
