We love this CL!

We feel that we have stumbled upon a real treasure with this CL. Having been Caravan Club members for 30 years this CL has gone straight to the top of our favourites list! The hospitality of Emma and Craig and the facilities they provide have really raised the bar high for other CLs and we shall definitely be back. Excellently kept grounds, new picnic tables with bench seats on each individual area, a clean and equipped kitchen, toilet and shower room if you should need one, excellent recycling facilities, not to mention Emma's delicious homemade cakes all add to this CL's charm. We enjoyed a magical summer's evening circular walk alongside the stream running through the bottom of the property which led out onto footpaths across meadows full of grasses and buttercups edged with hedgerows full of pale pink dog roses. We return home chilled and relaxed and hope to return again very soon.

Charming

This probably the best site we have stayed on. The welcome is fantastic, you are given plenty of information about the surrounding area. It’s motorhome friendly having a bus system a 10 minute walk away and are every 12 minutes in both directions.

Cosy and friendly little CL

Have stayed at this site many times when visiting Weymouth and there is always a warm welcome from Emma and Craig the owners. They have worked very hard to improve the facilties here from drainage on the field, new chemical disposal place, landscaping round the field, redecorating the toilet block etc etc.....every time I arrive they have done something else! If you love animals this is the place for you as there are horses and pedigree sheep as well as the family cats and dogs. Lovely local walks and scenery and a short car trip will get you into Weymouth and its lovely family friendly seafront. Look forward to returning sometime.

Excellent CL

We stayed here for the first time during the October Half Term week. My main reason for posting this review is following a mediocre review from a fellow member who arrived the same week. Yes, storm Brian had been through. We didn't have any problems at all with the pitch. We were on a grass only pitch by the kissing gate into the paddock. The site is excellent we couldn't fault it and have booked again for March 2018. The facilities offered for a CL are outstanding. Dog walking from the site is endless. Close to the supermarkets if you need them. Its hard to believe you are so close to Weymouth town when you see the countryside this CL is nestled in. This site is a little gem and the owners Emma & Craig cant do enough to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

My vote for CL of the Year

What a fabulous CL! Our first visit to Mouse Cottage and a last-minute booking on a tour of U.K. (we live in France) that has lasted over 7 weeks. We only booked yesterday and first read the reviews ........ so many great reviews and one negative. Thank goodness we ignored the negative review and booked. THIS CL IS OUTSTANDING! We run holiday cottages ouselves and know what damage a single, un-merited bad review can do. The rainfall in the last week (November 29th) in this area has been immense! Yet the ground here is fine. We are in a large Motorhome and on the hard standing, BUT would have had no trouble accessing the grass pitches. The CL we stayed on over the past week was a quagmire ..... Mouse cottage isn’t! Welcome was very warm. Shower block with washing machine and tumble drier was warm and clean AND freshly decorated (constant improvements have been mentioned in other good reviews). Walk from site along the river is doggy heaven! Please, please, please ignore the 1 (only 1 !) bad review and spoil yourself with a stay at the wonderful Mouse Cottage. We first joined the club nearly 20 years ago and have stayed at numerous CLs with both caravans and Motorhomes. WILL be back to visit.

Best cl i have stayed on

Just returned from Mouse Cottage after a long stay over October half term which included storm Brian, pitched on the grass with a bit of trepidation as the two hard stands were taken, had no problem at all with my Mondeo maneuvering the Caravan or driving backwards and forwards afterwards across the grass every day. I have already book again as this site is the best site we have been on and very well maintained by Craig and Emma. I would have no hesitation giving this CL my vote for CL of the year.

Difficult one this

This is a difficult site for me to review - we were booked in for the October half term, having had both email and telephone conversations prior to arrival. The gist of these was whether we could: a) book a hard standing - no, first come first served (fair enough). b) would the grass be ok if it was to rain a lot prior to arrival (storm (Brian) was forecast) - "yes it is very well drained, never a problem before". Upon arrival there was no way that I would (even with 4x4) be happy to cross the paddock to the pitch. Also, it would have been a nightmare trudging to the showers, water etc. To be fair to the lady she did refund our deposit BUT it would have been a lot less stressful had she been a bit more truthful and let us know prior to arrival - especially knowing our concerns. I would, however, imagine this would be a very nice site in the right conditions.

What a relaxing place

Just spent our first 8 nights with Emma & Craig at Mouse Cottage which we picked at random to stay on our way home from Sussex. What a lovely site! So friendly and welcoming. The sheep are a delight! Made us laugh everyday with their antics. Fantastic idea if donations for the laundry machines. Good facilities. Emma & Craig have worked so hard to improve the site and it is wonderful to see that paying off. We were in need of a bit of chill out time and Mouse Cottage certainly delivered. We have already booked two return visits in 2018. A real find.....we are so grateful that we did! Everything you need on your doorstep and lots of things to do and see.

Catch up after 20 months

Emma and Craig continue to improve this site. Every time we arrive there is always an improvement, to such an extent there is not much left that isnt perfect. A 5 Star CL
