Good stop over site, but not your picturesque week holiday stay

Very easy access from M5, just 2 minutes from away, which did give a little back ground traffic noise but not loud enough to be intrusive. Access from a lane into a gateway, which led onto a part grass /part hard standing drive of the farmhouse. Camping site was through another gate into a large grassed garden type area, which is where the vans were sited. It would have been a tight squeeze to get 5 vans along that line, especially with cars parked besides each van. I actually wanted hard standing, as it was raining very hard when we arrived. Eventually the owner came out as he saw us enter and stop and wait, as he had builders there doing an extension of the farmhouse. (May have been nice to be advised of this, and even offer a slight reduction on the fees as it was not a pretty sight). so we had the farmhouse drive area as our camping pitch, overlooking farm buildings and a building site. There is one shower and one toilet and a waste water emptying station. As previous reviews mentioned, no soap and a lot of cob webs etc. It would make the place so much more appealing, if once a week, someone went into these areas and removed webs etc. Lots of bins to recycle individual rubbish (card/glass/paper/food etc). I would recommend this place to someone wanting to stop over onto another destination, but the general unloved look of the whole place deters me coming to stay for a period of time. Saying that, the owner was nice enough, and I would return. But I would haggle the cost down to no more than £10 per night.
