Outstanding views

We recently had a 3 night stay on this wonderful CL which has the most amazing views of the sea. Each pitch is large and not uniformed at all. We liked the addition of having your own bins on your pitch. Mair kindly provided us with bus timetables and we caught the bus to and from Aberdaron and Abersoch with no problem at all. We cannot comment on the shower as we used our own facilities in the motorhome, however, new showers and toilets were under construction which will only be a bonus to this already lovely CL.

A little gem.

Stayed here for 10 days Aug 23. A really lovely site, great views across Abersoch and the beaches. Really good area to explore from, we travelled the whole peninsula, even going as far as Conway and Angelsey. Facilities were good, although no toilet at the moment, a new toilet and shower planned for next year. Roads were good but follow owners directions. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and although we don't usually stay at the same place twice we would make an exception for this site.

The perfect CL

This is a very very nice CL. Visited after weeks of rain but the ground was solid, dry and firm. Loved the individual pitching areas and the informality created by the longer grasses. This is not a clone of a club site, it’s simply beautiful. Good views over to Abersoch. No problems with the roads to the site, not too narrow, just follow the instructions from the owner. Used our own facilities so don’t want to comment on the shower.

Lovely stay

Enquired by e Mail requesting a pitch for 4 nights just few days before our visit in September & received prompt response from Mair, the owner. Found site very easily & access also very good. Very pleasantly surprised as pitches very well laid out, not uniformed but spread out across the meadow. All pitches had lovely views & electricity points and their own individual dustbins. The water point & chemical waste were just a few hundred yards away but well concealed by a low wall. Also in same area is a glass recycling bin. There is also a shower in little hut in farmyard. Bus stop just down the road took you to Abersoch, Aberdaron & Pwllheli or walk to Abersoch which is about 30-40 min walk. We used our electric bikes to cycle to Abersoch & nearby beaches. Mair, the owner would always stop for a chat & we would definitely stay there again when in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stunning views

It was our first stay on this site and we can see why regulars return here - it's a hidden gem. Total peace and tranquillity, with breath-taking views of Port Neigwl (aka Hell's Mouth), Abersoch and the surrounding hills. Shower and laundry facilities are now open, but there's no loo, which wasn't an issue for us. There's a farm shop about 100 metres away selling fruit and veg, eggs, very reasonable prices, all done with an honesty box, which we loved - but you will need exact change. Another few hundred metres takes you to Mynytho where there's a post office and shop. There's another local shop in Llangian, well worth a stroll down to, as it has an ancient church with a 5th century grave stone. There's another ancient church worth seeing in Llanengan - key given at the Sun Inn, a friendly pub. Both churches were stopovers for pilgrims on their way to Bardsey Island. We loved the surfing at Porth Neigwl and parked the motorhome in the free carpark no problems - but best to get there before 11 am just in case - but if full it's possible to park all along the lane with no issues. Mair was really helpful with local info and printed out a bus timetable for us. We took the no 17 bus to Aberdaron and walked the coastal path back - about 12 miles. Amazing scenery and hut circles to see on the hilltop. You can get the no 17 bus back at West end of Port Neigwl, thus avoiding the long hill back to the campsite, saving 2 miles. All in all a fantastic area, and the site is a perfect location for all the beaches and places of interest. We would recommend electric bikes or racing bikes, as it's a steep hill on the way back from the coast. We struggled on our heavy old mountain bikes. We are buying some electric adaptors! Will certainly stay there again.

fabulous first outing

Our first stay out in our new(old) caravan could not have been better. A lovely warm welcome from Mair, spacious pitch with stunning views and good weather. What more could we ask for, we are returning next week! Will be even better when the shower can reopen, Highly recommend this site,

Absolute bliss

Just returned from a 3 night stay here. If we had known how lovely the site was we would have booked for longer. The pitches were spacious and offered a high degree of privacy between pitches. The coastal views were amazing. We have 3 dogs and the site was ideal for them. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning but for longer next time. Our favourite site by far.

WONDERFUL AGAIN!!

We have just returned from a ten break on this superb CL - our second visit. I did review this site after our first visit in 2017 and gave it very well deserved praise. I am delighted that our return visit found the site, once again, to be in excellent condition. The hard core drive into the CL site has recently been extended with a strong shale base and now gives easy access to the pitches. As before the pitches are massive, nicely mown grass cut into the fern and bracken. Electric points are easy to access. Water, waste and chemical emptying are a short walk and are tidy / well cared for. The views from the site are absolutely superb. Abersoch one way - Hells Mouth the other. Excellent walks along the coastal path are easily accessible. The shower referred to in another members report (somewhat negative) was used every day whilst we were there by all five sets of caravanners on the site. (at different times I hasten to add!) OK there might have been the odd spider / web in the ceiling corners but it is a farm outbuilding! AND I have to admit we even get the occasional spiders web in our home from time to time and have to dust them away! The shower is free of charge and is more than adequate for visitors needs. It is possible that the rolls of netting referred to by "very disappointed" were there in preparation for the extension / repairs to the CL entrance road. The soil bank adjacent to pitch one is, I suspect, an old field boundary that is slowly being removed - it is not an eyesore in our opinion The wifi was still a problem during our visit - but this is a BT failure in the area and the site owners are waiting for BT engineers to sort the issues This site remains one of the best CLs we have visited

Very Dissapointed.

After reading the previous reviews and looking at the facilities and pictures we were looking forward to our visit. On arrival we were told the shower was not working and there was problems with the wi fi. Ok so we made our way to the pitch that was large and did have a good view over fields towards the sea. However we did not expect the site to be so badly kept. We had a large mound of dumped soil at the side of our pitch. there was a discarded gazebo frame dumped at the other side and rolls of netting strewn on the ground. We had a look at the shower room and could hardly get inside for all the clutter and looking at the shower we decided we wouln't have used it if it had been working as it needed a deep clean. The road to the farmhouse was in good condition, however the part that went into the cl was deeply rutted and we had to drive very carefully to get over this part. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to rectify all these problems and then it would be worth a visit.
