Beautiful site and incredibly helpful owners

We spent 2 nights here, the surroundings are so beautiful, although the sunny weather helped! Very peaceful considering the closeness of the A66, which we could hear but not so much that it was intrusive. Appleby was a difficult walk away, we used some of the disused railway line, but had to come off as it was overgrown and the rest of the walk was tough. We tried to get a taxi or a bus back but on Saturday it seems none of these things are available in Appleby. We were at a loss and had to phone Mrs Richardson who was shopping in Carlisle but willingly came and picked us up from the bowls club. which we had been watching from a seat in the shade! She was so kind and we couldn't thank her enough. There is a toilet on site for use of the tourers, but she tells us she is removing the use as too many people leave it dirty. We find that terribly sad, as too few CL sites have a toilet for use and for me it is quite important. Don't understand people, do they expect someone else to clean up their mess? Lovely site, people and beautiful manicured lawns. Thank you for your hospitality.

Exactly what a CL should be

very well kept and presented farm site. For us a CL just needs electric hook up, water supply and chemical waste disposal. (plus good views etc). This is exactly what New Hall Farm offers as well as friendly, helpful owners. We were allocated one of the more sloping pitches, but David helped us out by providing a couple of good planks to go under the lower wheel. Nearby there are some good walks up High Cup Nick. We parked at a free car park on the edge of Murton village and walked from there. I would definitely recommend this site and return again in the future.

Beautiful farm site.

Fantastic farm site. Very peaceful. Owners were very accommodating. Beautiful views and wildlife. Ignore coordinates and post code for directions as totally inaccurate. Just follow directions in the site book.

Lovely Site

Well cared for site with manicured grass. Large pitches with views. Friendly owners. Nice walk across the fields to the Sandford Arms. Not far from Appleby.

What a perfect gem

We booked at short notice stayed for 2 nights and will definitely use this site again. Friendly, helpful people, it is a working farm so the family are busy but they still have time to me sociable and pleasant to you.

Stunning site

This is a fantastic CL site set out on manicured lawns with views to die for, absolutely stunning, what a credit to the owners. There are plenty of walks direct from the site which the owners will give you directions for also the disused railways line which crosses the site makes for an interesting walk. Highly recommended. .............Please note........ This site is directly off the very busy A66 and is accessed via a private road not shown on maps. If you are using sat nav please us the following coordinates ...... N 54 32 13.0, W 2 22 54.7 If you use the post code it will take you to another location which is down a farm track and is shown on maps but is the wrong location.

Not the......

......easiest place to find or perhaps that's just my stupidity!  Do NOT trust sat nav and the postcode to find this site!  From M6 direction on the A66 turn right just after the dual carriageway ends just past Cafe Sixty Six.  Nice sized pitches and very friendly owner and his three legged sheepdog is a delight!  Far enough away from the A66 itself for traffic noise to not be any bother.  The only thing missing from this CL site really is a shower otherwise excellent.
