First time here ,really quiet with no road noise,we arrived Sunday so there was clay pigeon shooting club right next to the pitches which others have mentioned. Part sloping with long grass,we were the only ones there on the first night with only one other arriving the next day. Never saw the owner but the information email was very clear telling us about the site
Good for overnight stop or longer stays
We only stayed here one night to break a journey. It is on a large farming estate, backed by woodland with all the facilities neatly placed inside a little clearing and thus out of site. The owner make booking simple - once you've paid, you receive full instructions on how to access, whihc are exactly correct and given instructions on working the gate at the entrance.
The site itself is grass, which was a bit long when we were there, but it has been very wet - too wet to cut and probably better left long than cut and left to trample in the caravan.
Everything works as it should. The pitches are very large, slightly sloping with easy access to electrical hook up and the site is very peaceful.
The owner was away when we stopped, but one of the farm hands dropped by to welcome us and check everything was OK. A nice touch!
There is a lot more to do in the area than is obvious at first, so as well as a short stop, it is also good for a longer break - but you will need to have a car or bikes as it is delightfully in the middle of nowhere!
Lovely welcoming owners
Lovely friendly owners. Secure site through an electric gate you call with your phone. All covid safe with contactless payments before hand. Great for visiting local area like leamington spa, ,Warwick, Banbury and Daventry. Also Ashby-st-Ledgers is near by where Guy Fawks hatched his plan to blow up Parliament. Really nice views, very easy to get to with no country lanes. Many Pubs, canals and footpaths nearby.
Great CL set in beautiful countryside
Very efficient booking system. Access to the grounds the site is on is by electric gate, operated by your mobile, so very secure. Large CL area overlooking fields, with wooded area behind. Very quiet and tranquil ( others have mentioned clay pigeon shoots, but none when we were there for a mid week stay). Lots of wildlife watch out of your window, pheasants, hares, deer. Public footpaths on/from site and lots of good circular walks nearby.
A very pleasant stay, would definitely return
An unexpectedly lovely site!
We needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting family, so choose this site purely on basis of location. We loved it. Big, level pitches, and all in a line with marvellous views. Loved the security gate that you opened with your telephone number. The owner was friendly and welcoming. We walked into Flecknoe and down to the canal which was charming, had a nice pint in the pub. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit the relatives.

A lovely site
A tranquil and secluded site on a working farm. Very little noise other than the rooks. Great views and close to the Jurassic Way. Lots of wildlife to watch. There are deer roaming and we spent ages watching the hares in the wheat field in front of the pitch. Just be aware there is a clay pigeon shoot next to the site in case you have nervous dogs.
Fantastic CL
What a find! Torn between writing this review, or keeping this secret! Directions excellent, access to site via keypad locked gate, Tom texted the code a couple of days before we arrived, and instructed us to site ourselves, saying he would come and find us later - which he did.
The site is spacious, in front of a wooded area with splendid views over the valley. Plenty of room and the amenities (water and chemical disposal) are subtly tucked away just inside the wood. Lots of footpaths around and through the grounds so dog walking was a joy - they adopt a sensible policy requesting 'picking up' on the CL otherwise 'stick and flick' on the rest of the farmland. Tom found us in our van late afternoon, he was charming, he gave us a leaflet on the farm business, including local information and a map of the farm area. You can't see the farm buildings from the site which makes you feel liberated and unsupervised. All in all, a fantastic site.

Another gem of a site
We are just back from a lovely bank holiday stay here. A really nice secluded site with lots of space and pleasant views. The kids adored the woodland space behind the site and we did not see them for large parts of our stay. Lovely walks from the site and a good view of the viaduct. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I am pretty sure we will be paying another visit to this place.
Superb site and great hosts.
Been staying here for a few years now whilst visiting the grandchildren in Daventry and I thought I had left a review before.
Very spacious and secure site with great views, the grandchildren love visiting us here enjoying the open aspect and the woods behind where they regularly meet Tom’s 2 boys.
Easy access with a wide entrance but watch the old bridge blocks.
Tom is a pleasure to deal with and even found us a place near his barn when the CL was flooded earlier this year.

Perfect base and secure
We needed a base so that we could visit family in Northampton. Booking was easy and Tom sent the code for the security gate a couple of days before arrival. The site is easy to access and level with fantastic views and it has the bonus of the security gate for peace of mind. We stayed over the Royal Wedding/FA Cup final weekend and were the only ones on site so had our choice of pitches. The water and waste disposal is in tucked away discreetly the woods behind the pitches. Tom arrived to switch on the water (he was sorting out a leak) shortly after arrival with his delightful son. He was very friendly and suggested various places to visit. Although the main purpose was to visit family in Northampton (30 minutes drive) we also fitted in visits to Coventry (40 minutes) and Stratford-upon-Avon (40 minutes). After a busy day it was great to return to our 'van, get a brew on and enjoy the fantastic views. We will definitely be returning to Newbold Grounds!
