Christmas this time!

Returned yet again. This time for 5 nights over Christmas to see family locally. Storm Gerrit arrived but we were sheltered OK and no flooding at the site. The M48 Severn bridge also was closed after we had arrived due to the high winds but no problem returning to Wales via the M48/M5/M4 intersections. Cannot fault the site with clearly marked out recycling bins and secure entrance gate which you have a key to. Passage Road is now open again as well after the completion of the flood prevention scheme there. Parking spaces down there and new footpath making it possible to walk down to the Prince of Wales bridge without going into the field.

What a great site and friendly owner

Having relatives in Bristol we often need to stay nearby . This is the first time here and we will be back. You stop at the owners house and collect the key to the gate and advised at the same time where all the facilities are. Later you get a visit to check everything is OK. Gate entrance back from the road so you can pull in before unlocking. There are 3 hard standing sites just inside and having said we wanted one originaly we decided on using the grass area which was firm all the time we were there, even though we had heavy rain. Great views opposite and being further up on the grass meant we were never disturbed. Well laid with recycling bins, drinking water and waste disposal area which was on the ground meaning you did not have to lift your tank up. So many sites seem to have waste disposal points too high. Easy to get out onto the M48 either for Bristol or Wales. Having expected a lot of motorway traffic noise it was incredibly quite. A few minutes walk down the lane and you are on the Severn. This year 2021 the end of the road is closed whilst they do flood barriers but still areas to walk which the dog enjoyed. This will now be our preferred Bristol CL.

Lovely quiet site

When I saw how close this site was to the motorway I was worried about noise but I didn't need to be. It's a lovely, peaceful site in a perfect location to be able to visit so many places. We stopped here on our way to Wales and it was ideal - we even cycled over the Severn bridge to Chepstow which was well worth it and a beautiful ride almost completely on cycle paths. Mr Alway is a lovely gentleman and keeps his site very nicely.

Adverse travels on Bristol stop over.

Site is in a beautifully mown flat field through a locked gate. Key was available from the owners house next to the field. There is no toilet or shower but this is reflected in the £12 p/night charge. There is fresh water, grey water waste and chemical disposal points. The rubbish is split into recycling (beautifully separated) and general rubbish. Dogs are allowed on site on leads. Most of the pitches are grass but there is a small section of hardstanding if the weather has been particularly wet. There were a couple of good walks from the site especially over the Severn Bridge. The views and sunset were magnificent. The site is beautifully kept by the owner John who is 85 years old. A really lovely chap. This site is a great place en route to Devon/Cornwall, to break up your journey.

Little Gem of a site.

Me and the wife plus, brother in law and wife just stayed on site for 2 days. On way down to exmouth for 2 weeks. We used it as a short stop over Plenty of room on either grass or hard standing pitch. We was in caravan and brother in law in campervan. Very nice owner and loads of room. Short walk from Severn bridge. Will be using again for longer stays now we have found it.
