What an amazing find we had. First visit but not the last.

Having been out and about in our caravan for over four weeks running rallies we decided to schedule in a planned visit to Alde for a Fluid Top up on our way home. What a lucky find we had. Northfield Farm is delightful as also are its owners Frances and Tony. Our booking some weeks before was very courteous and friendly and the day before we arrived we received a message wishing us a safe journey and confirming the best route to take to reach the site from the A14 and also advising us details of our pitch would be displayed at the gate should they be out. In fact we received a very warm welcome from Tony, who advised us of our pitch and when everything was. Having sited the van Frances then came along to welcome us. What an amazing site run by such lovely people. It is spacious, immaculately kept and offers everything you could wish for, peace, tranquility, lovely walks, especially around the adjacent wheat field, a chance to visit the Alpacas and Donkeys and to see the sheep. The added bonus is the Honey, and Rhubarb and Goosebery and Plum and Almond Jam you can buy. Amazing. We needed to empty some of the contents of the caravan for our trip out to Alde and were immediately offered a safe place to store them, totally unexpected but greatly appreciated, especially as it rained. The site is quite close to the A14 but we did not find road noise to be a problem at all. We can thoroughly recommend it and will certainly be back very soon and hopefully again at Lambing time. Thank you Frances and Tony. It was our pleasure to have met you and stayed on your lovely site. Jenne and Keith Esssam x

Pleasant Stay

We have recently visited this lovely CL site. On our arrival we were welcomed by Frances & Tony, couldn't wish for nicer people. The day before our trip, we received a text message saying have a safe journey and look forward to seeing you. I thought this was nice jesture. The site had grass pitches and also 2 hard standings (we pitched on the lower of the 2) water tap directly behind our pitch . Tony & Frances take great pride in their site which showed. One of the days we were there, the sheep were being sheared, and Tony & Frances allowed us to watch this interesting day of life on a sheep farm. Adjacent to the site was a very large wheat field which you could take a pleasant walk around (2 benches en route to rest if needed). Plenty of detailed information on hand which we found helpful, and we took a walk to the saling club/reservoir. There is some road noise from the busy A14 dual carriageway but it didn't bother us. We would definitely visit this CL again if we were in the area. Ours thanks to you both for our enjoyable stay. Hope to meet you again somtime. Jan & Tony Wilkins

Outstanding Hospitality & Fantastic CL site!

Northfield Farm CL, Kettering We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely site just off the A14 at Kettering - we were taking a trip to get used to our new motorhome and visit friends. It was really convenient for us visiting friends but would equally suit for a holiday, short break or resting stop on a long journey. We couldn't have been made more welcome and were helped by Tony when we had a minor hitch with our water free flowing out! Frances even offered to make us something and even though we said we were ok she still brought us some (very welcome) soup and bread & butter as she knew we hadn't had chance to eat dinner! We had lovely walks with the dogs, saw the alpaca, sheep, lambs and donkeys and really enjoyed our stay. We also bought some honey - we will try the Rhubarb & Ginger jam next time, as I am sure we will be back!

Good for a stopover

Recently stayed here while visiting local area. Access was straightforward with good directions and just a straight short section of narrow road. Pitches are at either side of the field which is kept nicely mown, water on the same small field and disposal points just around the corner in the yard. Probably the nicest dog walk we have come across with a pathway all the way round the adjoining field. The only downside here for us was the sap from the trees and the road noise as we are very light sleepers and it was quite significant all through the day/night but we always carry earplugs!

Love this site

Have been here twice now and both times have had a lovely peaceful stay. Brilliant for walking the dog. The site is very tidy and well kept and the pitches are nicely spaced. If you like shopping then Kettering centre is only 5 mins away by car. The owners make you feel really welcome and are very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed feeding the lambs the last time we visited, could have fed the very friendly donkeys as well but I was too scared. Hoping to visit again next week especially as the weather is going to be good. Our Dog Eddie loves it here. Thanks for making us feel so comfortable and welcome, love it here. x

Fabulous CL

We stayed here very recently and after 30plus years of CL visits I have to say that this one is owned by two of the nicest people that you could meet. Nothing is too much trouble. It’s a lovely highly maintained little site a little gem. Access is easy , we were invited to go see the new lambs being bottle fed a bonus for us townies. Nice pub a short drive away for meals. I also like the fact that they text me the day before our arrival with a short friendly message and again the day after we left they wished us a happy onward trip. Just little touches make all the difference. I need to return I didn’t know about the jam and the marmalade. All in all excellent .

Absolutely brilliant

We , 2 adults and a dog stayed 3 nights , as hubby working locally . Super friendly hosts , with a bonus of homemade jams and marmalade for sale , plus awarding local raw honey . The site has excellent recycling, and all bins emptied at least daily , hand gel everywhere. Dog exercise is a wheat field next to site about 3/4 mile walk which is traffic free, best dog exercise found on a site so far. Plenty of walks locally from the camp site. The alpacas watched us as they guarded the lambs from their field and handsome donkeys in another field . The bottle feed lambs were incredibly happy to be stroked. A really enjoyable site , weve booked to come back already . Thank you to the wonderful hosts for a marvellous, relaxing stay .

Love love love

First trip to a cl site, having only joined cc a few weeks ago. We stayed for a couple of nights and loved this site. We have 2 small children and had plenty of space for them to play and things for them to see like the Donkeys, sheep, alpacas, baby lambs and tractors. We’re big on recycling at home and found the recycling area was fantastic and that every bit of rubbish we had, had its own bin. Hand sanitiser everywhere couldn’t fault anything. We picked this site as it was local to us and we’re still learning the ropes, found the owners very helpful with great knowledge of caravanning and just generally lovely people that made us feel welcome. Plenty of wildlife to be seen too. Only down point was we forgot to buy some honey!! Will be back for sure.

Great Site.....buy their honey and jams they are delicious !

Lovely site, the Alpacas were so close to us, they were inquisitive and came really close to us as we chatted to them. The sheep had had their adorable lambs and they were so close to us, wandering up to the fence right by us. What a real treat. Great dog walk on site which was perfect for our Caviler King Charles who reached the age of 11 while we were there, and lots of local walks on the doorstep. Visited Kirby Hall which we can highly recommend, good shops near by, including all the big names within 4 miles. We bought their local honey and home made Rhubarb and Ginger jam, both were amazing. A lovely couple who were very helpful, we will visit again and highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a relaxing, clean and well cared for site.
