Great CL handy for A1

We stayed overnight on our way south to the Eurotunnel crossing to France. Very easily accessible from the A1 and soon on our way the next morning. Very good hardstandings, we used one of the new ones at the top of the field with our Motorhome and access to and egress from the pitch a doddle. Pleasant welcome from our hosts, everything explained and all facilities convenient. Just about to book again in anticipation of our next trip south. Hope it doesn't get too popular!

Spot on

Just been to this site for the New Year. There re now 7 hardstandings with 2 new ones higher up the very large field. It was a lovely CL run by very nice owners. Well worth a visit.

Lovely Site

We stayed at the site in April 2015 for 7 nights loved it. Individual pitches all hard standing. Very clean and tidy with lovely views including the Kites. We specifically went to this area to go on the Nene Valley Steam Railway which was nearby and took you into Peterborough. Ideal site for the Motorhome Show.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CL's

This CL is a credit to the owners. A great location with ease of access, plenty of options for pitching, hardstanding or grass. The best thing for us dogs was that we could go straight from the caravan into the adjoining field which had a ten foot wide grass path all the way round. Also, our owners really like country walking and there is access to plenty of paths and bridleways straight from the site. We heard our owners talking about "the Stilton Stumble" walk than another member has mentioned on another review and that can be done straight off site too. Nene Valley Country park is only a short drive away and that too lets us get plenty of exercise. I hope we get brought back here again. From Arri and Anna ( two very happy dogs).

Quiet,rural site.

We visited this site recently whilst visiting relatives nearby. The site is easily to get to and very quiet with beautiful views of nearby countryside. The site is very clean and owners were extremely helpful,we have dogs and the adjacent field walk was perfect. The site is only a short distance from shops in Stilton and ideal for visiting nearby Peterborough. We have already booked a re visit.

Great CL

Had a lovely, 3 night stay here between rallies in July.  Lovely welcome from non-obtrusive but friendly owners.  Great views, site is sloping, good gravel roads and hard standings, as well as a large field. Lovely dog walk around the adjacent field.  Dogs made very welcome. If we need a CL in the area, we will certain come back to this one.

Fantastic

We have just returned from our third visit here with friends, fantastic views, fantastic walks, fantastic pitches and of course fantastic hosts. We pitched on the grass this time, all level and plenty of space. We will be back.

One to return to

We spent a 4 day Mon-Fri break at Oaklands Farm at the end of January 2015. This site is all that the previous reviewers have stated. Well laid out with large hardstanding pitches, quiet [we were the only ones on site all week] with non-intrusive owners. The actual location is about 2 miles from Stilton itself along a quiet country road with very little traffic. There were lots of footpaths in the area and one walk that we would recommend is the Stilton Stumble which is a 6 mile circular walk and is routed close to the site:- http://stumblers.stilton.org/lets-stumble/ We even had a Red Kite prowling over the adjacent field on two successive days. For motorhomers – be aware that the fresh water point is adjacent to the owners house – there is no water point close to the actual site. We will return when we have better weather, as we didn’t really do justice to the myriad of walks available from this site.

Excellent Site

We booked this CL as it was conveniently situated for our hobby of Geocaching.  The site is easy to find, approached over a gravelled drive leading to the spacious pitches, (choice of grass or hard standing, with plenty of hookup points). We didn't see any red kites over the site, but there are numbers of them in the area as we saw plenty whilst out and about. Mr & Mrs Fairchild are very welcoming, and we have no problem in recommending this CL.  We will certainly be back

peace & quiet

There were two red kites circling overhead as we arrived!  And we saw more whilst we were there. A warm welcome.  A quiet & peaceful site. The overall site is on a slope so you may need leveling blocks, although the hard standings are cut across the slope. Its good to have a choice of grass or hard standings. As we have family in the area we are likely to return.
