Lovely spot- shame about the owner!

We have stayed here twice now, the first time we were reasonably happy with the site, lovely views and close to the M1 junction. However our second visit will be our last. The lady owner asked us to park near the entrance in case we needed pulling out but didn't mention there was no electric hook up point nearby. The water was switched off in the field and the only water supply was adjacent to the stable block clearly marked not for consumption! Despite a lot of people tending their horses, the owners could not be located, and so we very carefully parked near to a hook up point and set up. Only to be disturbed later on by a very rude owner furious that we had supposedly dug up his grass and not parked where we were told, he was disgusted that he only earned a pittance from the CL site, and he would not listen to reason. He totally ruined the first night of our Christmas break, his lack of attention to health and safety should be a warning to any prospective visitors. We were left under no illusion that the CL was a nuisance to him and very much secondary to his other ventures. I would not recommend this site at all.

I'm sorry that the first night  was ruined, because as you said at the time you thoroughly enjoyed your first stay.

I do feel that I need to correct a couple of things.

My wife asked you to park near the entrance because the site was to wet to go across to the far side. She spends hours in the summer mowing the site and takes great pride in it's appearance. We are very busy in the summer and get plenty of positive comments about our site. To see a car and caravan make ruts across the site which will take weeks of work in the spring to rectify, is very upsetting when the site looks like a lawn not a grass field.

I was out but my wife was in the house so I'm not sure why it was so hard to find her if you couldn't find the hook up point near by.

With regards to health and safety I was certainly unaware that there was a problem with the tap. If this was the case then as you state the toilet emptying point tap is clearly labelled not for drinking so cannot be used by mistake. I'm very surprised you would choose to use this rather than come to the house or use one of the contact numbers.

Finally as a general point we strive to provide  good facilities having just added free, fast  wi fi and will certainly try and learn from any problems that arise
