Great CL in lovely area - we will return

Spent 4 nights here Aug 2017. It was perfect for us - quiet, great location and good walking / touring easily accessible. Lovely views over the area and all hard-standing with no levelling required. Appreciated the easy dog-walking on site for early and late walks, and surprised the owner was happy for us to walk around their own landscaped small lakes. Owner available but unobtrusive.

A Cracker

This site is the best for miles around. Only 10 minutes from the centre of Dumfries. Hard standing pitches, no levelling required. Grass kept neat and tidy, beautiful views and a large field with a circular pathway for dog walking. Owners friendly and unobtrusive but helpful with advice and knowledge. We do not normally visit a CL twice as we prefer to explore but have made an exception in this case as it ticks all the boxes in the area.

A Nice CL

We stayed here over the early May B/H and could not believe we had the site to ourselves. Admittedly the weather wasn't brilliant. The owner has now put in 5 hard standings which means little or no levelling is required. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the weather and even got a nice walk or two in around their field, ideal for dog walking. A lovely peaceful week-end.

Really Lovely Site

Excellent CL Site, very helpful and friendly, Stayed mid-October in heavy rain and gales but hope to return in better weather.  Grass pitch was OK but with all the rain we sunk a little and had to adjust legs several time, not the sites fault just really bad weather.  Good luck with the site, I am sure with all the rain we had the pond will fill shortly

Future CL of the year

Beautiful quiet site. Lovely surroundings and views. Nothing to much bother for the owners Andrew & Julie. An all grass site which is well drained with the grass kept short with the cuttings lifted as it is cut. Owners are passionate about wildlife with bird boxes attached to trees around the site. There is a large area of grass land adjacent to the site with a walkway all the way round. Stayed for a second time for two weeks during July and August and can't wait to return. If any criticism could be made it would be that some of the pitches have a bit of a two slope which causes a bit of a problem levelling. Must be a contender for CL of the year in the next few years when all the plants, trees and shrubs mature.

Will just get better and better

Stayed on the English August bank holiday weekend. Just booked at last minute and went to Ae forest for mountain biking (suitable for all, green to black). Beautiful open views as seen in the picture. Very friendly owners. They are really enthusiastic about encouraging wildlife from building a pond to nest boxes. On a quiet back road but easy to get into Dumfries so easy to get to all the local area of Dumfries and the Borders, including 3 of the seven stanes. Has an area of hard standing which may be suitable for winter use. Good luck for this new site
