Lovely site

Greeted by friendly and helpful owner Maurice immediately upon arrival who showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. It was a lovely, well kept site with hard standing pitches, well maintained lawn, clean toilets and shower. The site is in a small pretty village with a bus service into Malton. The next village is a short walk away and has 2 pubs that serves food.

Lovely little site

This was our first visit to Pear Tree House and we'd certainly go back. We only stayed two nights but could have happily stayed longer. The site is well kept, all pitches are hardstanding and well maintained lawn elsewhere. Electric is metered and only charged at the rate the site owners pay for it so very fair. There is a clean and tidy toilet/shower block which is hidden behind a hedge so not intrusive. Owners Maurice and Rita were extremely friendly and helpful and rightfully proud of their site. We would definitely recommend.

Top CL for peace and tranquility

This was our second visit to Pear Tree House and we received a warm and friendly welcome from Maurice and Rita. The site now has all hard standing pitches with metered electricity supply. Some reviewers found the meters a problem but, as Maurice pointed out, it's fair that people pay for what they use - I agree, and have no problem with the system. The basic price of the site (£15 per night) is very good value for the location and the quality of the facilities. The site is very well maintained and a credit to the owners. We used it as a base for walking part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way (it's about ten miles to Fridaythorpe, where you can access the route at one of its prettiest sections- between Fridaythorpe and Wharram Percy medieval village). About five miles away is Sledmere House. The coastal towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all about a half hour drive away. Would strongly recommend this site to anyone who likes peace and quiet after an active day out in the area.

Beautiful Site

You can only describe this site as beautiful with its well maintained grass and all the lovely wildflowers. We stayed 8 nights and our metred electric cost around £11 so excellent value for money (first time with metred electric so wasn't sure how much it would cost) Lovely walk to nearby Weaverthorpe....downside The Star Inn.... but that's another story... All in all a fabulous family holiday (3 caravans, 6 adults) would definitely visit again

CRACKING SITE GROMIT

A great stay on the Yorkshire Wolds, this CL is has everything you could wish for, great views, great facilities, friendly owners and very well kept. Well laid out hardstandings with the grass kept short and no grass clippings anywhere. I have no hesistation in recommending this CL to other club members.

A beautiful well maintained site. Very friendly owner who was able to correct me about what day of the week it was.... We've been touring and somehow lost a day!!! I was booking in for Thursday & Maurice told me it was Friday!!! Ho hum!!! Very organised recycling area with clear labels and instructions. Metre for electric not a problem. Definitely recommend site. Very pretty.

Our recent trip to God’s own country

The site is situated in a rural spot, lovely and quiet. We were welcomed by Rita and directed to pitch. Electric is metered, £1 & £2 coins needed very reasonable charges! Toilet kept very clean. Shower not open at present due to Covid. All bins provided for general waste and recycling. Site is clearly maintained to a very good standard, we were fortunate to have great weather this week while here, and the site is a great sun trap! We visited a few places while here, varying from 30 mins for journeys. We haven’t spent much time in this area of Yorkshire before and were very impressed with the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. There is a lovely pub in the village called The Star Inn, food is great, and staff very friendly. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this CL will be going in our book to remember! We will be back at some point! Caron & Paul Kerr

June 2021

Lancs v Yorks.. Lancs .wins hands down ! We ve been C Ling for several years , had good experiences everywhere until ..this one ! However , the owner did apologise for the cold defensive ‘unwelcome ‘ ! Maybe he d had a bad day . Now in Lancs - cheaper , better views ,plus shower that works , electricity AND loo paper ! So important to have a GOOD welcome to strangers which we ve had here ! PS Never written a review before either !

Great site

Thank you Maurice and Rita for a lovely 3 night stay at your site. We made trips out in our Motorhome to Hunmanby Sands for a beach walk and bacon sandwich, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey. All easy to get to with easy parking. The site itself is beautifully maintained and tranquil. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Great site with considerate and friendly owners.

Visited the site with 6.4m motorhome. Reason for visit Sledmere House, by cycling there. The drive to the site passes through very pleasant rural scenery matched by the manicured and well laid out CL site. Maurice and Rita are very welcoming and engaging. The site has all the necessary facilities all at hand and as required Covid secure. It was our first time using metres and more than pleasantly surprised how convenient and cost effective it was. In fact a lot cheaper than the normal EHU price. Had a meal in The Blue Bell Inn in Weaverthorpe, a mile away all on a pavement, very walkable. The site is an excellent example of what a well managed CL should be. Will be returning.
